Preface

The Agent in DeepSeek Harness is driven by the same system prompt for its internal thinking process (chain of thought, step-by-step planning, and tool-calling reasoning). When tools return English content (such as web scraping results, documents, or error messages), the Agent’s chain of thought can easily drift linguistically and gradually switch to English, causing instability in subsequent reasoning and the language of the final answer.

This plugin registers a set of rules into the system prompt at startup, forcing internal thinking to use Simplified Chinese, while the language of the final answer is left to the model’s own judgment (English proper nouns, code identifiers, etc. may be retained).

Core Features

  • Fixed injection position: Placed after the persona, making behavior predictable.

Installation and Enablement

After installation, DeepSeek Harness must be restarted for the plugin to take effect. After restarting, create a new standard “Standard Mode” session and observe that the thinking blocks should be entirely in Simplified Chinese.

1. CLI Installation

Run the following command under any non-desktop profile (such as web, tui, or a custom profile):

dsh plugin --profile <name> add github:yingjian666/dsh-zh-thinking

2. DSH Desktop 4.1+ Installation

  • Open Settings → Plugins.
  • Select “Install from other sources”.
  • Enter the plugin source: github:yingjian666/dsh-zh-thinking.
  • Check “Advanced Options” (this is critical; otherwise, the GitHub source cannot be recognized).
  • Confirm full access and install.
  • Restart DSH.

3. Offline Installation

If your network environment is restricted, you can download a .tgz package:

  1. Download the packaged file from GitHub Releases.
  2. Settings → Plugins → Install from other sources.
  3. Enter the absolute path of the .tgz file.
  4. Check “Advanced Options”.
  5. Restart DSH.

Notes

  • Minimal logic: The plugin logic contains only one file, lib/index.js, with no HTTP routes or client panel.
  • Maintenance disclaimer: The author does not commit to continuous maintenance; it is provided for learning and experimentation only.
  • Preset compatibility: Under two-stage anchoring presets such as “Liangshen Mode,” the prompt in the first-round anchoring phase may be filtered and automatically restored after promotion. This is the anchored behavior of the preset, not a plugin failure.
  • Version compatibility: It depends on DSH kernel >=0.1.1-rc.1 <0.3.0-0. If it does not take effect after installation, check whether the kernel version meets the requirement.
