Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts an “everything is a plugin” architecture. For developers accustomed to using Cursor, how to reuse its native Agent Loop and tool ecosystem within DSH is a pain point. The xytoki/dsh-cursor-agent plugin solves this issue by allowing DSH to directly invoke Cursor’s server-side Agent protocol, preserving Cursor’s native tool capabilities and interaction experience.

Plugin Positioning

This is an MIT-licensed open-source plugin maintained by xytoki and categorized as a web tool. Its core value is to deliver the same speed and experience as Cursor within DSH, specifically by reusing Cursor’s server-side logic to replace or enhance DSH’s local Agent loop.

Core Features

The plugin primarily provides the following capabilities:

  • Native Agent Loop: Directly uses Cursor’s native Agent Loop (agent.v1.AgentService/Run), rather than DSH’s own Agent logic.
  • Model and Configuration Selection: Automatically discovers and allows users to select models available in Cursor, as well as configure options such as thinking intensity and context.
  • Native Tool Retention: Preserves Cursor’s native tool capabilities, including file read/write, network requests and search, Question interactions, and foreground/background Shell, and automatically maps other DSH tools to MCP.
  • Context Management: Supports Cursor’s native automatic title generation and context compaction features. Once these features are enabled, DSH’s built-in automatic title, compaction, and billion-context-dsh ACP will be automatically disabled.

Installation and Enablement

The installation steps are as follows:

  1. Open a terminal or the DSH command line.
  2. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add @xytoki/dsh-cursor-agent
  1. After installation, log in to your Cursor account or bind an API Key / Auth Token on the DSH settings page.

Typical Usage

Once enabled, Cursor’s Agent can be invoked directly in conversations. If debugging is needed, set the following environment variable:

CURSOR_AGENT_DEBUG=1

Notes

Please keep the following points in mind before use:

  • Protocol Risk: This plugin connects to Cursor’s undisclosed Agent protocol and is a result of community reverse engineering. If Cursor’s server-side protocol changes, the plugin may stop working.
  • Disclaimer: This project has no official relationship with Anysphere or Cursor. Please comply with Cursor’s Terms of Service.
  • Feature Limitations: PlanMode switching and Subagent/Task features are not currently supported.
  • Execution Permissions: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and confirm the license before installing.

Summary
