Introduction¶
In the Web interface of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), Composer is the primary area for writing task instructions. Users often need to convert natural language descriptions into clearer, more structured, and executable prompts. dsh-prompt-for-me is a plugin that runs in DSH Web sessions. It combines the non-empty draft in Composer with locally optimized prompt templates, calls the model selected by DSH to rewrite it, and streams the result back to Composer for user review and editing.
Plugin Introduction¶
This is a prompt optimization tool maintained by user XXXXXQ-0206. It does not rely on external services but instead leverages DSH’s current model routing capabilities. The core value of the plugin is to maintain user control over Composer—the generated text is only written in as a draft and will not be submitted automatically, allowing users to modify it at any time before sending.
Core Features¶
- Optimize Current Draft: On the basis of preserving the original intent, it converts the description into clearer instructions that are easier for an Agent to execute.
- Use DSH Model Routing: By default, it uses the model selected in the current DSH session. You can also pin a specific Provider or Model in the plugin settings.
- Edit Optimization Prompts: The plugin includes built-in optimization templates (containing instruction rules and few-shot examples). You can independently edit these two parts in the settings, or restore the defaults with one click.
- Add Custom Few-shot Examples: Supports configuring “original prompt/optimized prompt” pairs or “broad task/optimized instruction” pairs. Up to 16 examples can be saved.
- Maintain Control: The generated content is written directly into Composer; the plugin does not automatically trigger the send action.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin must be installed via a package management command and requires DeepSeek Harness version 0.2.x (0.2.0-rc.1 or later).
Run the following commands in the terminal:
dsh plugin --profile web add https://github.com/XXXXXQ-0206/dsh-prompt-for-me/releases/download/v1.0.0/dsh-prompt-for-me-1.0.0.tgz
dsh web
After installation or update, restart dsh web to activate the plugin.
Usage Instructions¶
- Open a project session in DeepSeek Harness Web.
- Enter the task description to be optimized in Composer (it must contain non-empty text).
- Click the Prompt Assistant button next to the Composer action bar.
- The optimization result will be streamed into Composer. You can view it directly or click the “Edit” button to adjust it manually.
- After reviewing it, press Enter to send the draft; if you are not satisfied, you can press
Ctrl+Z/Ctrl+Yto view the generation history.
Operational Details¶
- Start/Cancel: Click Prompt Assistant to start generation; click it again during generation to cancel the current request.
- Send: After editing in Composer, use the Enter key to send via DSH.
- Limitation: The plugin requires non-empty text in Composer to start the optimization feature.
Notes¶
- Empty Draft Limitation: In the current version, prompt design and project context collection for empty drafts are disabled; content must be entered first before use.
- Data Transmission: The optimization request sends only the draft text in Composer and the locally configured plugin templates; it does not involve project files or session history.
- Data Compliance: According to the Provider’s data terms, the optimization request is processed by the selected model.
- Context Control: Since the project context collection feature is disabled, related setting items will be hidden in the interface.
