DSH (DeepSeek Harness) plugin ecosystem allows developers to extend agent capabilities. Apple official documentation and WWDC content are resource-rich, but directly retrieving and locating specific APIs or technical details is often inefficient. xby-search-apple-docs connects these resources through the Model Context Protocol (MCP), supports AI-driven natural language queries, and provides Swift/Objective-C code examples and technical guides.

Plugin Positioning

This is a search service plugin for Apple Developer documentation, APIs, frameworks, and WWDC videos, maintained by xby-skill.

Installation and Configuration

Before using it, you need to register and obtain an API key. Go to Xiaobenyang official website to complete registration.

Install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:xby_skill/xby-search-apple-docs

After successful installation, you need to set the API key in the conversation (automatically persisted and valid after restart):

set_xby_apikey <你的密钥>

Core Features

Documentation Search and Content Retrieval

  • search_apple_docs: Search Apple Developer documentation, used to find specific APIs, classes, or methods. This is the starting point for obtaining results.
  • get_apple_doc_content: Retrieve detailed content of a specific documentation page. Usually used after search_apple_docs to read API details, understand usage, or check availability.
  • list_technologies: Browse all Apple technologies and frameworks by category. Used to discover available frameworks or understand the ecosystem.
  • search_framework_symbols: Browse and search symbols within a specific framework. Usually used after list_technologies obtains the framework identifier.
  • get_sample_code: Browse complete sample projects, distinct from the code snippets returned by search_apple_docs.

API Analysis and Dependency Resolution

  • get_related_apis: Analyze API relationships, showing inheritance, protocol conformance, and Apple-recommended alternatives.
  • resolve_references_batch: Deeply resolve all types and APIs referenced in a documentation page to understand dependencies.
  • get_platform_compatibility: Check API availability across Apple platforms and OS versions, including minimum deployment targets and deprecation information.
  • find_similar_apis: Discover alternative and related APIs, finding modern replacements with similar functionality.

WWDC Content Access

  • list_wwdc_years: List all available WWDC years and video counts.
  • browse_wwdc_topics: List all WWDC topic categories and their IDs, for filtering videos by topic later.
  • list_wwdc_videos: Browse WWDC session videos, with filtering support.
  • search_wwdc_content: Perform full-text search over WWDC video transcripts and code examples, for finding specific discussions or implementation examples.
  • get_wwdc_video: Retrieve complete WWDC session content (including transcripts, code examples, and resources), providing offline access.
  • get_wwdc_code_examples: Browse all code examples in WWDC sessions.
  • find_related_wwdc_videos: Discover sessions related to a specific video, including prerequisite and follow-up content.

Technology Overviews and Updates

  • get_technology_overviews: Retrieve comprehensive guides and tutorials for Apple technologies.
  • get_documentation_updates: Track the latest Apple platform updates, new APIs, and changes.
