DeepSeek Harness (DSH) agents in early versions often lacked direct internet access. When handling online requests, they were usually advised to refuse. The xby-fetch plugin removes this limitation. It is a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server that provides web content fetching and converts HTML to Markdown.

Plugin Overview

This is an internet tool plugin maintained by xby-skill and licensed under the MIT License. It converts the HTML content of web pages into Markdown, making it easier for downstream content processing and analysis.

Installation

The installation command is as follows. After execution, the plugin is added to the web profile configuration file:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:xby_skill/xby-fetch

Usage

1. Set the API Key

The plugin depends on the set_xby_apikey function. Invoke this command in the chat to set the API key. The system persists it automatically, so it remains valid after a restart.

2. Fetch a Web Page

Use the fetch function. This command can retrieve the content of a specified URL from the internet and optionally extract it as Markdown. This enables the agent to access up-to-date information and inform the user.

Notes

  • Key acquisition: To use this feature, register on the Xiaobenyang official website and obtain an API key.
  • Permissions and security: The plugin runs with the privileges of the current DSH process. Before installation, it is recommended to review the source code and license.

Summary

xby-fetch adds internet access capabilities to the DSH plugin ecosystem, solving the problem of agents being unable to proactively retrieve real-time web data. For more details and source code, visit GitHub.
