Preface

DeepSeek Harness is a plugin-based client framework. During use, it can be difficult to intuitively monitor the API cost of the current conversation unless you manually check the platform billing information. The dsh-conversation-cost plugin can display a cumulative cost badge to the right of the session title in the web interface, and you can view the details by hovering over it.

Core Features

  • Zero dependencies, zero build: Neither the plugin host nor the browser side requires a bundling tool.
  • Accurate pricing: Prices peak and off-peak periods separately, supports collapsing provider usage by step (input / cache hit / output tokens), and associates each step with the model actually executed.
  • Real-time updates: Based on the sessionCost session projection, the badge refreshes automatically when each step completes.
  • Multi-model support: Supports v4-pro / v4-flash / v4-flash-vision-exp / legacy V3 models.
  • Dual-currency display: The badge and details display ¥ and $ simultaneously.

Installation and Enablement

  1. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-conversation-cost
  1. Restart the dsh web service, and the plugin will take effect.

Configuration

Override entries by line id in ~/.dsh/profiles/<name>/cordis.patch.yml (user overlay). This file is used to customize plugin behavior.

Notes

  • The badge number is an estimate calculated as the official USD unit price × configured exchange rate, and may differ slightly from the platform’s RMB billing conversion (the platform uses its own internal exchange rate).
  • It displays only the cumulative cost of the current conversation.
  • Uninstall the plugin: dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-conversation-cost
