The core philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” While using the Web client, tracking token consumption, cache hits, and estimated costs for sessions and workspaces often lacks an intuitive entry point. The dsh-v-token-insight plugin displays data panels directly on the client side, turning this information into always-available statistics and insights.
Plugin Positioning¶
This plugin is maintained by victor10035445 and is licensed under MIT. It provides token statistics and cost insight capabilities for the DeepSeek Harness Web client, aiming to turn token consumption, cache hits, estimated costs, and consumption cadence across sessions and workspaces into always-available data panels.
Core Features¶
The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:
* Token statistics and cost insights: Provides a cross-session overview, conversation page statistics, and a lightweight display at the end of replies.
* Cross-session overview: View a cross-session token consumption overview through the “Token Statistics” entry in the sidebar seat.
* Conversation page statistics: View round-level details and step-by-step calls in the third tab, “Session Token Statistics,” at the top of any conversation page.
* Lightweight reply tail display: Displays elapsed time, cost, and total tokens at the end of a reply.
* Fork branch deduplication: Automatically identifies and deduplicates forked branch sessions; exclusion applies only to statistics, while the rows remain queryable.
* Local incremental ledger v2: Records data using sharded storage and book-value pricing, and supports self-healing for coverage gaps.
* Pricing table and plans: Supports maintaining a pricing table and setting daily/monthly planned consumption.
Installation and Enablement¶
The plugin supports direct installation from a GitHub address. The installation command is as follows:
dsh plugin --profile web add "github:victor10035445/dsh-v-token-insight"
To lock the version, append #<commit-sha> to the command. After installation, restart dsh web and refresh the page for the changes to take effect.
Typical Usage¶
- View the cross-session overview: Click the “Token Statistics” seat at the bottom of the sidebar to enter the cross-session overview page.
- View single-conversation details: Open any conversation page, click the third tab at the top, “Session Token Statistics,” and view the current conversation’s round-level details and step-by-step calls.
- Set the consumption plan: In the “Plans” tab of the overview page, set a daily or monthly token consumption plan.
- Maintain the pricing table: In the “Pricing Table” tab of the overview page, maintain the pricing table information.
Notes¶
- Host version requirement: The plugin depends on DSH version 0.1.2-rc.1 or later. Do not upgrade older host versions.
- Pure client-side implementation: The plugin is a pure client-side plugin. It does not replace or disable any official plugins and does not involve kernel changes.
- Data sources: All data comes from the host’s existing projections, session windows, and the local incremental ledger.
- Book-value pricing: Pricing table costs are book values. Modifying the pricing table only affects newly recorded ledger entries afterward and does not rewrite historical data.
- Local storage: Ledger data is stored in the browser’s
localStorage.
Summary¶
This plugin provides DSH Web users with a complete token consumption view, from a macro cross-session overview to micro single-round invocations. Combined with local ledger and plan management, it helps control inference costs more precisely. For more details, refer to the project repository.
