DSH (DeepSeek Harness) ecosystem emphasizes “everything is a plugin.” When developers look for plugins in an Agent session, they typically need to manually search GitHub topics or browse external lists. The upstream plugin uses anonymous calls when querying the GitHub search API, limiting it to 10 requests per minute per public IP, and frequently returns 403 errors, making discovery unstable. vclike/dsh-find-plugin solves the problems of single discovery channels and API call limitations.
What is this tool?¶
This is a tool for discovering DSH plugins within an Agent session. It queries both GitHub’s dsh-plugin topic and a curated list (around 3,400 entries), then merges and deduplicates the results before returning an executable dsh plugin add installation command.
This plugin is maintained by vclike and is developed based on the maintenance branch of upstream awesome-dsh-plugin/dsh-find-plugin. The upstream version has limitations with anonymous API calls; this branch adds token authentication, dual-source merging, disk caching, and a true fallback chain.
Core features¶
- Dual-source search: Searches both GitHub’s
dsh-plugintopic and the curated list. - Result merging and sorting: Merges search results; GitHub results are sorted by stars, and curated-only entries fill the remaining slots.
- Token authentication: Supports API calls using a
GITHUB_TOKENcredential to increase rate limits. - Rate-limit resilience: With token authentication, supports 30 requests per minute; without a token, limited to 10 requests per minute per public IP.
- Offline fallback: Provides a complete offline fallback chain (memory cache -> disk cache -> built-in snapshot).
- Zero dependencies: Resolves credentials through a service layer without directly importing
@deepseek-ai/dsh-credentials.
Installation and activation¶
Install it using the official plugin manager:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:vclike/dsh-find-plugin
After installation, restart dsh web, because the bundle layer is assembled only at startup.
Configure a GitHub Token (Recommended)¶
To obtain higher API rate limits and avoid interference from shared egress IPs, it is recommended to configure a GitHub token.
The plugin reads a credential named GITHUB_TOKEN through the DSH credential service (the same credential used by dsh-github-companion). This credential is usually provided by the GITHUB_TOKEN environment variable of the DSH process.
- Without a token: API calls are limited, and when the GitHub quota is exhausted, it falls back to the curated list.
- With a token: The API rate limit is increased to 30 requests per minute and is not subject to shared egress IP limits.
Typical usage¶
The plugin supports three parameters:
query(required): The search keyword, for example"wechat notifications"or"cross-session memory".limit: The maximum number of results to return; default is 8, maximum is 20.lang: Preferred description language, enorzh; default isen.
When executing a search, the plugin first returns GitHub search results (sorted by stars), then fills the remaining slots with entries from the curated list that only match the keyword.
Output example:
1. dsh-mnemon ★143 — 跨会话记忆 / cross-session memory

install: dsh plugin --profile web add github:owner/dsh-mnemon
2. some-curated-only ★7 [curated] — 仅见于 curated 列表的条目

install: dsh plugin --profile web add github:other/some-curated-only

Notes¶
- All plugins are third-party code: Before using any plugin discovered through this plugin, be sure to review its source code.
- Rate-limit details:
- Without a token: 10 requests per minute (per public IP).
- With a token: 30 requests per minute, not shared by IP.
- Data sources: The plugin list returned by this plugin is based on a community-maintained curated list and live GitHub search; 100% completeness is not guaranteed.
Summary¶
vclike/dsh-find-plugin addresses the pain point faced by DSH developers when looking for plugins inside sessions. By integrating GitHub search and the curated list, it provides a consistent discovery experience. Combined with token authentication and offline fallback mechanisms, it ensures availability under API rate limits or network fluctuations.
