Introduction¶
When executing tasks, DeepSeek Harness (DSH) primarily relies on AGENTS.md files to obtain behavioral instructions for Agents. These instruction files typically exist globally (~/.dsh/AGENTS.md) and in local workspaces (<workspace-root>/AGENTS.md). When users use multiple tools at the same time (such as Claude, Cursor, Aider, etc.), these instruction files may be scattered across different directories, and manual management and routing can become cumbersome and error-prone.
The dsh-rich-context plugin provides DSH with a visual instruction management interface. Located in the Skill Center sidebar, it allows developers to directly edit, optimize, and route the AGENTS.md file that Agents actually read.
Plugin Overview¶
Plugin Name: dsh-rich-context
Core Features: Manages Agent instruction files, with support for custom paths, cross-tool directory scanning, and default source switching.
Maintainer: savageops
License: MIT
Installation and Activation¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-rich-context
After installation, restart the dsh web process. After restarting, an entry named Context appears in the Skill Center sidebar.
Core Features¶
1. Sidebar Editing Panel¶
The Context panel provides two segmented tabs:
- Global: Edit the global instruction file ~/.dsh/AGENTS.md. This file is injected into every session.
- Workspace: Select a workspace from the dropdown list and edit the AGENTS.md file in that workspace’s root directory.
2. Custom Path Editing¶
In the path bar at the top of the panel, click the path text to jump to and edit a file at any absolute path. This allows users to directly manage instruction files located in non-standard locations.
3. Source Scanning and Default Source Configuration¶
In the Global tab, the panel automatically scans 10 tool directories (including .dsh, .codex, .claude, .cursor, .aider, .gemini, .copilot, .continue, and the root directory) to find AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md files.
Files found during scanning display their line counts. Click Set as default to have the system create a symbolic link (symlink) for ~/.dsh/AGENTS.md pointing to that file. This allows DSH to transparently read the instruction file from a single tool directory you specify as the default source. Click Reset to restore it to a regular file.
Technical Architecture¶
The plugin uses a frontend-backend separated architecture:
- Backend: Node.js-based, handling file scanning, read/write operations, and symbolic link management through /api/rich-context/* routes.
- Frontend: Implemented with pure DOM, with no React dependency, and renders the sidebar and editor using injection.
Notes¶
- After installation, you must restart the
dsh webprocess before the sidebar entry appears. - Released under the MIT License; it can be freely used and modified.
- Before installing the plugin, ensure the current DSH process version meets the requirement (
dsh >= 0.1.6-0 || >= 0.2.0-rc.0).
