Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a Web interface for running agents and viewing generated files. For developers, opening these files in a local IDE is a routine operation. The dsh-open-in-editor plugin connects the Web interface with a local editor, making this process seamless.

Plugin Description

  • Name: dsh-open-in-editor
  • Author: shaomingbo
  • One-line description: Open DSH Web-generated files in a configurable local macOS IDE, or copy their absolute path.
  • License: MIT
  • Requirement: DeepSeek Harness v0.1.2-alpha.2 or later.

Core Features

  1. Direct Open: Click a generated file name to open the file in the configured default IDE.
  2. Path Copy and Temporary Open: Click the arrow next to a file to copy its absolute path. You can also choose System Default, Zed, Visual Studio Code, or Xcode to open it directly without changing the default setting.
  3. Batch File Access: When a single generation produces more than six file paths, the interface displays +N more. It can be expanded to access all files and collapsed after use.
  4. Configuration and Detection: In Settings → Open in IDE, select the default IDE and refresh local application detection.
  5. Path Resolution: Supports opening files or directories. Relative paths are first resolved against the session workspace.
  6. Behavior Replacement: Only replaces the behavior of the produced-files turn tail; regular inline file links still use the DSH native opener.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in the terminal to install:

npx --yes github:shaomingbo/dsh-open-in-editor#v0.3.2

The installer safely updates the web configuration profile, enables the plugin package, and runs pnpm install --ignore-scripts. It backs up the manifest and restores it if installation fails. After installation, you need to manually restart DSH and refresh the Web GUI.

If you need to use another configuration profile or package source, you can use the following parameters:

npx --yes github:shaomingbo/dsh-open-in-editor#v0.3.2 --profile web
npx --yes github:shaomingbo/dsh-open-in-editor#v0.3.2 --source link:/absolute/path/to/dsh-open-in-editor

Common Operations

Check the current configuration status:

npx --yes github:shaomingbo/dsh-open-in-editor#v0.3.2 status

Uninstall the plugin:

npx --yes github:shaomingbo/dsh-open-in-editor#v0.3.2 uninstall

Security and Limitations

  • Platform Limitation: The first version only supports macOS.
  • Path Safety: The host side only accepts absolute paths and validates whether a file or directory exists using realpath and stat.
  • Command Whitelist: Application sources are restricted to a fixed whitelist (such as Zed, VS Code, and Xcode), and arbitrary commands or arguments are not accepted. /usr/bin/open is invoked via an argv array, not through the Shell.
  • Clipboard Usage: The path-copy feature uses the browser Clipboard API and does not involve Host RPC.
  • No Automatic Restart: The plugin does not automatically restart the DSH process.
  • Dependency Management: The installation process uses --ignore-scripts to avoid potential script conflicts.
