Introduction

The left sidebar of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) occupies grid column space on mobile devices even when collapsed. The dsh-mobile-topbar plugin saves this space by converting the sidebar into a compact top bar on narrow screens.

Core Features

This plugin is primarily active on screens 768px wide or narrower:

  1. Sidebar behavior change: The sidebar no longer occupies a grid column; instead, it becomes a hidden drawer (off-canvas drawer) that can be opened with a hamburger menu.
  2. Top bar layout: The top bar includes a hamburger menu, brand mark, and new session button.
  3. Right panel adjustment: The right panel (file/document preview) becomes a full-width fixed panel.
  4. Settings modal repositioning: The settings modal is repositioned to avoid covering the top bar.

Installation and Enablement

Run the installation command in the DSH profile directory:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:pureexe/dsh-mobile-topbar

After installation, the plugin must be listed in dsh.profile.bundles of the profile’s package.json:

{
  "dsh": {
    "profile": {
      "bundles": [
        "@deepseek-ai/dsh-base",
        "@deepseek-ai/dsh-web-app",
        "dsh-mobile-topbar"
      ]
    }
  }
}

Restart the profile (for example, dsh web) to apply the changes.

Compatibility and Notes

  • Version compatibility: Verified compatible with DSH 0.1.5-rc.3, 0.1.6-alpha.x, 0.1.7-rc.x, and 0.2.0-rc.2.
  • CSS implementation details: The CSS overrides target specific class names generated by the DSH build (internal implementation details), which may change in future versions.
  • How to disable in 0.1.7: When disabling this plugin on a 0.1.7 host, do not add disabled: true to cordis.patch.yml; instead, remove the plugin from dsh.profile.bundles.
  • Dependency declaration: The plugin intentionally declares no peerDependencies.
