Foreword

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web is a conversation-centric interface. During extended sessions of code generation, debugging, or dialogue, developers often need to browse community updates or look for related discussions. The current official interface lacks a sidebar forum feature. The heybox plugin solves this problem by mounting a forum panel on the right side of the DSH Web session.

What Is It

heybox is a plugin that displays Xiaoheihe forum content on the right side of DSH Web. The plugin is maintained by plasta2steel, and its interaction model is ported from WenfuRainbow/heybox. It brings the Xiaoheihe browsing experience into the right-side panel of DSH, allowing users to browse the forum between conversations without switching windows.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following features:

  • Feed and Browsing: Provides a recommended feed, popular board categories (Digital Hardware, Box Friends Chat, etc.), and supports pagination.
  • Content Details: View post details (supports JSON rich text blocks) and comments (shows floor number, IP location, and collapse indicators), with an image zoom slider and hover preview support.
  • Search and Favorites: Supports site-wide post search, favorites list, and favorites synchronization (calls server-side APIs).
  • Message Notifications: After logging in, it checks for replies and likes every 3 minutes, and the bell icon displays the unread count.
  • UI and Login: Supports theme switching (follow DSH / force dark / force light), adjustable panel width (340–780px) and collapse, and Cookie login.

Installation and Enablement

Add the plugin using the official installation command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:plasta2steel/dsh-xiaoheihe

After installation, restart DSH Web and refresh the page for the “Xiaoheihe · HeyBox” panel to appear on the right.

Typical Usage

  1. Login: Click “Login” in the right-side panel, then open a browser and visit xiaoheihe.cn to log into your account. After logging in, use the developer tools (F12) to copy the Cookie from any request header (it must include heybox_id=, x_xhh_tokenid=, or user_pkey=), and paste it back into the plugin.
  2. Browse Content: Switch between the “Recommended,” “Boards,” or “Favorites” tabs to browse posts.
  3. View Details: Click a post to open the detail page and view the body content and comments.
  4. Search: Use the search feature to find posts, or directly paste a post link/ID to open it.
  5. View Messages: Click the bell icon to view reply or like notifications.

Notes

  • Cookie Security: The plugin requires browser Cookie authentication (parameters such as hkey) to request APIs normally. The Cookie is stored only on the host side ($DSH_HOME/heybox/state.json) and is not sent to the browser, reducing the risk of Cookie leakage.
  • Image Loading: All images are loaded through the host-side proxy endpoint /heybox/img.
  • Data Ownership: This unofficial project is for learning and exchange only. The data belongs to Xiaoheihe.
  • Comment Limit: Comments are fetched automatically using pagination, with a maximum of 700 items.
