Preface

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” For developers, directly integrating a mature coding-paradigm skill library such as obra/superpowers (including skills like TDD, systematic debugging, brainstorming, and plan execution) usually requires manually moving files. The peijingbobo/dsh-superpowers-plugin converts obra/superpowers into a zero-dependency ESM bundle, enabling the AI to automatically recognize and apply these skills in DSH sessions without manual intervention.

Core Features

The plugin is built with zero-dependency ESM JavaScript and has the following main capabilities:

  1. Automatic recognition and application: The plugin registers a provider in the DSH skill registry (ctx.skills), and the model can call skill({ name }) as needed to obtain skill instructions.
  2. Session skill directory injection: Using DSH’s built-in mechanisms, it automatically injects a persistent <available_skills> reminder listing all skill summaries.
  3. Direct slash command invocation: It supports the /skill-name format; for example, entering /systematic-debugging directly injects the full skill text.
  4. Proactive application reinforcement: At the beginning of a session, it injects a one-time using-superpowers directive to guide the model to check and load matching skills.
  5. Upstream tracking and automatic synchronization: It includes a built-in polling mechanism (once every 6 hours) and automatically builds a new version after detecting updates in the upstream obra/superpowers.
  6. Version alignment: The plugin version number stays consistent with the upstream superpowers version number.

Installation and Enablement

The prerequisite is that the DeepSeek Harness CLI is installed (if running from source, use pnpm dsh ...).

Run the following command to install it:

dsh plugin add github:PeiJingbobo/dsh-superpowers-plugin

After installation, start Harness:

dsh web

The startup log should show a message similar to dsh-superpowers-plugin: serving skills from .../skills, indicating that the plugin is active.

Usage

After enabling the plugin, you can directly experience the following scenarios in a DSH session:

  1. Smart triggering: Enter “Help me implement feature X,” and the model should automatically recognize the intent and call skill to load the brainstorming and related skills.
  2. Command injection: Directly enter /systematic-debugging, and the full skill text is injected into the current session.
  3. Guiding prompt: At the start of a new session, a You have superpowers. prompt appears to suggest that the model use the available skills.

Notes

  1. Skill priority: A skill with the same name in the project directory takes precedence over the built-in plugin copy (rank 600). This means you can override specific skills locally without affecting overall plugin updates.
  2. License: The plugin code is MIT licensed, and the skill content comes from obra/superpowers (MIT).
  3. Source development: For source development, use pnpm dsh web --patch /path/to/dsh-superpowers-plugin/cordis.local.example.yml.
  4. Permissions and review: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process. It is recommended to review the source code and licenses before installation.

Summary

dsh-superpowers-plugin solves the cumbersome problem of skill-library integration and ensures the skill library stays up to date with upstream releases through automatic synchronization. Developers no longer need to worry about manually moving files; they only need to focus on the skill content itself. For more details, see the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
