Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture that allows you to adapt to different models or tools by extending its capabilities. When using a local toolchain (such as Cursor CLI), a common requirement is to route conversation requests from the web UI directly to a locally logged-in CLI, rather than proxying them through DSH’s API gateway. The dsh-cursor-passthrough plugin is designed for this purpose. It implements this routing logic by adding a dedicated group to the model selector.

Plugin Scope

This is a community-maintained plugin developed by user mingzhong15. Its core feature is to add a group named Cursor Passthrough to the chat model selector in DSH. When a user selects this group, the web UI intercepts the conversation turn and directly runs agent acp locally, using the locally logged-in Cursor CLI to handle the request.

Difference from dsh-cursor-acp

This plugin is different from dsh-cursor-acp:
* dsh-cursor-acp: Registers a cursor_agent tool when the parent chat is using a DSH model.
* dsh-cursor-passthrough: Modifies the model selector routing so that the entire conversation turn goes directly through Cursor CLI.

Prerequisites

Before installing this plugin, make sure your environment meets the following conditions:

  1. DeepSeek Harness and Cursor CLI are installed, and agent login has been run to sign in.
  2. dsh-cursor-acp is installed under the same Profile. This plugin reuses the CLI discovery helpers from that plugin but does not register the tool again.

Installation Steps

Select the installation command that matches your runtime environment.

Web Profile:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:mingzhong15/dsh-cursor-passthrough

Desktop:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add github:mingzhong15/dsh-cursor-passthrough

Local Checkout:

dsh plugin --profile web add link:/path/to/dsh-cursor-passthrough

After installation, you need to restart DeepSeek Harness. If you are using a remote browser, a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) is recommended.

Enable and Use

  1. After installation, go to Settings -> Cursor Passthrough.
  2. Use the toggle on the right side to control the visibility of this group in the model selector.
  3. In the chat interface, select the Cursor Passthrough group from the model selector.
  4. Select a specific Cursor model (such as Paratera, DeepSeek, etc.). The conversation will be processed directly through the local CLI.

At this point, the Composer area shows a green badge, indicating that the current session is in Cursor Passthrough mode.

How It Works

When the selected Provider is cursor, DSH intercepts llm/stream requests and executes agent acp locally. For Cursor sessions, session titles and compaction logic also use local placeholders, thereby bypassing DSH’s API adapter layer.

Notes

  • This plugin is not an official Cursor product.
  • Make sure the local environment is correctly signed in to Cursor CLI.
  • It must be used together with dsh-cursor-acp to obtain CLI discovery helpers.
  • The code is open-sourced under the MIT License.

Conclusion

dsh-cursor-passthrough provides a standardized routing method for directly invoking local Cursor capabilities within DSH. If you need to seamlessly switch to the local CLI from the web interface without changing DSH’s model selection logic, this is a practical tool.
