Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a pluginized architecture and supports on-demand capability extension. obra/superpowers provides a mature engineering workflow, including steps such as requirements analysis, code review, and Git delivery. Meteor-system/superpowers-for-dsh aims to bring this workflow into the DSH environment by delivering automatic session bootstrap, native collaboration tool integration, and a Windows sandbox compatibility layer through a standalone bundle and preset.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following capabilities:

  • 14 on-demand loadable skills: covering scenarios such as requirements and design, execution and collaboration, quality and debugging, code review, Git and delivery, and skill maintenance.
  • Automatic session bootstrap: automatically loads applicable skills when a session starts, instead of stuffing all content into the context.
  • DSH native planning and collaboration tools: integrated support for plan mode, goal, subagent, workflow, Ralph, todo, background jobs, filesystem, PowerShell, and web search.
  • Windows sandbox compatibility layer: handles permission fields in danger-full-access mode, ensuring that ordinary pwsh, write, and edit calls do not require manually adding sandbox_permissions or justification.
  • Optional UI/UX Pro Max: provides domain search, stack search, and deterministic design-system generation capabilities.

Installation and Enablement

Installation consists of two steps: bundle installation and preset installation.

1. Install Bundle

Run the following command in the terminal to install the bundle into the DSH profile:

npx @deepseek-ai/dsh plugin --profile web add github:Meteor-system/superpowers-for-dsh

After installation is complete, run dsh --profile web --dump-config to confirm that the output includes superpowers-for-dsh.

2. Install Base Preset

Go to the repository root directory and run the installation script. The default installation path is %USERPROFILE%\.dsh\.agent-presets\superpowers-dsh.

node scripts/install-preset.mjs

When upgrading, use the --force parameter; the installer will automatically back up the old directory.

3. Optional: Install UI/UX Pro Max Preset

If you need to use UI/UX Pro Max features, install the variant preset in addition:

node scripts/install-preset.mjs --variant uiux

4. Enable and Restart

After installation or update, you must stop and restart the DSH profile, refresh the web page, create a new session, and select the SuperPowers for DSH or SuperPowers for DSH + UI/UX Pro Max preset. Old sessions retain the configuration from when they were created, and cannot automatically verify the new bootstrap or tool catalog.

Typical Usage

Base Preset Workflow

After a new session starts, the model should operate according to the preset workflow:

  • New feature development: brainstorming -> writing-plans -> executing-plans / subagents
  • Bug debugging: systematic-debugging -> test-driven-development -> verification-before-completion
  • Git delivery: requesting-code-review -> finishing-a-development-branch

PowerShell Invocation

Under the Base preset, ordinary pwsh calls do not require manually constructing the sandbox_permissions field; simply invoke them directly:

{
  "command": "Get-Location",
  "description": "确认当前项目目录",
  "timeoutMs": 30000,
  "workdir": "D:\\Code\\project",
  "run_in_background": false
}

UI/UX Pro Max Usage

To use UI/UX features, first clarify the product definition through brainstorming, then invoke search and generation tools.

{
  "query": "keyboard focus modal",
  "domain": "ux",
  "max_results": 3,
  "diagnostics": true
}

Stack search must be invoked separately and cannot be mixed with the domain parameter:

{
  "query": "accessible responsive analytics dashboard",
  "stack": "react",
  "max_results": 3,
  "diagnostics": true
}

3. Generate

Once the requirements are stable, generate the design system:

{
  "query": "SaaS analytics dashboard for business operators",
  "project_name": "Metrics",
  "format": "markdown",
  "variance": 5,
  "motion": 4,
  "density": 5,
  "persist": false
}

Model-facing Schema Constraints

The schemas for the ui_ux_search and ui_ux_generate tools strictly limit parameters using additionalProperties: false. For example, ui_ux_generate must not include the page or force fields in non-persistent mode.

Notes

  • Standalone implementation: This is an independent DSH bundle, not a fork of obra/superpowers or LayneChai/superpowers-dsh.
  • Prerequisites:
    • The Base preset requires a DSH Web profile, an environment capable of running Node.js scripts, and Git.
    • The UI/UX preset additionally requires Python 3 (no third-party packages need to be installed; the environment variable UI_UX_PRO_MAX_PYTHON can be used to specify the path).
  • Tool disabling: The current preset explicitly disables subagent_codex and subagent_claude_code.
  • Return value specification: Tool results must retain the upstream (including repository, revision, skillVersion), sourceIds, and warnings fields as-is.
  • Schema validation: Even if the model parameters are valid, the core layer still performs secondary input normalization and scope checking.

Summary

SuperPowers for DSH provides DeepSeek Harness with a complete engineering workflow. By using lazy loading skills and DSH native tool integration, it reduces manual intervention and simplifies local operations through the Windows sandbox compatibility layer. Together with the optional UI/UX Pro Max, developers can complete the full process from requirements to design locally.
