Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web UI includes a built-in session statistics line, which displays metrics such as time to first token, throughput, and token counts. In DSH 0.1.7 and later, this line is provided by the StatsLine service with fixed display content. The dsh-statusbar-config plugin leverages this data source and takes over the official statistics line using JS template string syntax, allowing you to trim or reconfigure the displayed content as needed.

What It Is

This is a client-side plugin maintained by MannixHu. By shadowing the official stats entry in the conversation.composer.dock slot, it turns DeepSeek Harness’s built-in statistics line into a fully customizable template.

Installation and Enablement

Installing this plugin requires DeepSeek Harness 0.1.7+ (or 0.2.1) and Node.js >= 22.

Run the following command in a terminal:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:MannixHu/dsh-statusbar-config

After installation, restart the dsh web process to load the plugin.

Configuration and Usage

The plugin provides two equivalent configuration methods: UI configuration and YAML configuration.

Via UI Configuration

  1. Open the DSH Web UI.
  2. Go to Settings -> Plugins -> Status Bar Template card.
  3. Click a variable chip (such as ttft) at the cursor position to insert it into the template.
  4. Press Enter to save. The configuration takes effect immediately.

Via YAML Configuration

Add the status-bar-config namespace to the ~/.dsh/settings.yaml file:

status-bar-config:
  enabled: true
  template: '首 token 平均 ${ttft}s · ${tps} tok/s | 缓存命中 ${cache}% | 输入 ${input} tok · 输出 ${output} tok'

Supported Variables

The plugin supports the following variables. Embed them directly in the template string:

  • ${ttft}: average time to first token in seconds (plain number)
  • ${tps}: decoding speed in tok/s (plain number)
  • ${cache}: cache hit rate (without %)
  • ${input}: billed input tokens (compact format, e.g. 63.7M)
  • ${output}: output tokens (compact format)
  • ${turns} / ${steps}: turns / steps
  • ${llm} / ${tool}: cumulative LLM / tool invocation duration (with built-in units, e.g. 3m12s)

Behavior Notes

  • Empty template: If template is left empty, the default full statistics line is restored.
  • Disabling the plugin: Set enabled: false to hide the entire statistics line.
  • Variable rendering: Unknown variables are displayed as-is; variables with no data are rendered as empty strings.
  • Legacy compatibility: The YAML boolean keys used to control section toggles in version 0.1 are ignored. After upgrading, use the template configuration consistently.

Ecosystem Context

DeepSeek Harness follows an “everything is a plugin” architecture. This plugin is hosted on GitHub. Community directories (such as SkillHub) list many such tools; they have no affiliation with official DeepSeek.
