Introduction¶
In the development workflow of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), quickly reusing previously sent prompts or reviewing context is a common need. Existing interfaces usually rely on scrolling or copy-pasting, which is not always smooth. The dsh-input-history plugin aims to solve this with two complementary interaction modes: terminal-style keyboard history browsing and a searchable /history panel.
Plugin Introduction¶
loommii/dsh-input-history is a client-side plugin that provides terminal-style input history. It allows users to replace the input box content directly using arrow keys (↑/↓) without popping up a list, or to open a searchable floating panel via the /history command. The plugin reads the full log of the current session, isolates data by session, and automatically collapses adjacent duplicate messages.
Core Features¶
-
Terminal-style arrow-key browsing
When the input box is empty or the cursor is at the beginning, pressing ↑ or ↓ replaces the input box content with the most recently sent message. This mode does not open a popup and resembles Shell history navigation. -
Searchable floating panel
Open a floating list with the/historycommand. It supports mouse selection, and also supports ↑/↓ plus Enter inside the panel. -
Insertion mode
When/historyis selected from the slash menu, the plugin enters insertion mode and inserts the selected message at the position of the/historytoken, preserving the surrounding context. -
Data processing behavior
* Session isolation: Data is strictly isolated by session.
* Data source: It reads from the full log of the current session, including pagination.
* Automatic collapsing: Adjacent duplicate messages are collapsed automatically.

Typical Usage¶
-
Terminal-style browsing

History panel
Type/historyand select it from the slash menu, or press Enter directly to open the history panel. You can use the search filter inside the panel to find specific messages. -
Cancel operation
In terminal-style browsing or panel operations, press ESC or click outside the panel to cancel and restore the draft.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for DSH developers who frequently adjust prompts or trace back context. It is a purely client-side plugin and does not require host-side code changes. It reads data from the full log of the current session. Before using it, make sure the host environment version is compatible (dsh >= 0.1.7-rc.1). The plugin is released under the MIT License.
Conclusion¶
dsh-input-history lowers the barrier to reusing messages in long conversations by introducing terminal-style keyboard interaction and a structured search panel. For developers who are accustomed to arrow-key navigation, this popup-free browsing mode can significantly improve input efficiency.
