Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web GUI is the primary interface for developing and debugging agents. By default, the fonts for the interface and code areas are fixed. To use locally installed fonts, you typically need to prepare font files or modify the core code. The dsh-system-fonts plugin provides a direct configuration approach by reading the system registry and font directories.

What Is This

This is a system font selection plugin designed for the DSH Web GUI, maintained by user kira4094. It solves the problem of directly using system-installed fonts without preparing font files, without modifying any official DSH code.

Core Features

  • Enumerate all system fonts: Reads the Windows registry (HKLM/HKCU) and font directories to list all installed fonts.
  • Independent UI font and code font settings: Controls UI text (--dsw-font-family) and code block/terminal text (--ds-font-family-code) separately.
  • Instant effect: Applies changes through the official API without refreshing the page.
  • Persistence: Settings are saved in browser local storage and remain after refreshing or restarting.
  • Refresh button: Allows manual list refresh after installing new fonts.
  • Bilingual (Chinese/English): Automatically follows the DSH interface language.
  • Pure plugin architecture: Automatically reverts after uninstallation and does not affect the native DSH experience.

Installation and Enabling

The plugin requires a Node.js environment version >= 20.

The installation command is as follows:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:kira4094/dsh-system-fonts

After installation is complete, restart the dsh web process (or DSH Desktop) to load the plugin.

Typical Usage

  1. Open the Settings page and go to the “General” tab.
  2. Find the “System Fonts” setting.
  3. Select the target system fonts in the “UI Font” and “Code Font” dropdowns respectively.
  4. Changes take effect immediately; no manual page refresh is needed.

Notes

  • Platform limitations: Currently only Windows is supported (uses the reg query command to read the registry). Running on Linux or macOS results in a fallback to an empty list.
  • Revert on uninstallation: This is a pure plugin; after uninstallation, the configuration is automatically cleared and the DSH interface returns to its default state.
