Introduction¶
The core architecture of DeepSeek Harness is plugin-based. When handling complex requirements that involve multi-turn collaboration, task decomposition, and result aggregation, an additional workflow engine or manually managed scripts usually need to be introduced. The dsh-agent-teams plugin directly builds a coordinated multi-agent team inside a Harness session, enabling task decomposition, dependency management, and result aggregation through natural-language requests.
What It Is¶
This is a plugin maintained by jonah791 and licensed under the MIT License. It allows the current DeepSeek Harness session to act as the “captain,” scheduling multiple persistent subagent members. The plugin includes built-in task dependency scheduling, direct communication between members, and quality gating mechanisms, allowing complex multi-agent collaboration to be completed in a single session without an additional workflow engine.
Core Features¶
- Captain delegation: The current session acts as the captain, responsible for forming the team, assigning roles, and consolidating the final results.
- Persistent members: Members are resumable DSH subagents that can be woken in a specific turn for follow-up.
- Dependency-aware tasks: Tasks have explicit states and can be picked up only after their dependencies are completed.
- Automatic reuse and safe takeover: Idle members automatically pick up ready tasks; when tasks are reassigned, expired attempts are revoked, and cold recovery can retry incomplete tasks.
- Direct messaging: Members can send messages directly to teammates or the captain through a persistent mailbox.
- Live activity panel: The Web UI displays phase progress, member rosters, and an interactive task DAG; running tasks show the member model, and completed records retain full history.
- Pre-execution planning: The default run first builds the pending member roster and DAG for review. Only “Approve and Run” starts dispatch.
- Quality gating: Supports automated remediation and review workflows for quality tasks. Scope control is auditing behavior at completion, not host-level write interception.
Installation and Enablement¶
This plugin is recommended to run in a DeepSeek Harness 0.1.5-rc.1 environment. Lock the exact version during installation to ensure compatibility.
- Install the plugin to the
webprofile (replacewebif another profile is needed):
dsh plugin --profile web add --save-exact @nanmicoder/dsh-agent-teams@0.1.17
- After installation, stop and restart Harness (for that profile), then refresh the browser.
Typical Usage¶
Directly request team collaboration using natural language in the conversation. For example:
“Use AgentTeams to review the commits after v0.5.3 from performance, security, and product perspectives. Return one consolidated report.”
Notes¶
- Host version and desktop app: The recommended host version is
0.1.5-rc.1. Note that upgrading the global CLI does not automatically update the Harness core built into the desktop application; desktop users need to check the in-app Harness version. - Dispatch triggering: Only the “Approve and Run” action enables dispatch; each member starts from the first ready task.
- Scope control: Scope control is auditing behavior at completion, not host-level write interception.
- UI and language: The activity panel, conversation cards, and dialog controls follow Harness semantic colors and use the official Harness internationalization service, following language switches without separate configuration.
Summary¶
dsh-agent-teams provides DeepSeek Harness users with multi-agent collaboration capabilities without an extra workflow engine. Through captain delegation, dependency-aware dispatch, and real-time monitoring, it simplifies the processing workflow for complex tasks. For more details, see: GitHub or SkillHub directory.
