Introduction

The core design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin”. During agent development or debugging sessions, developers frequently need to switch between the Chat UI and workspace context. The dsh-workspace-overview plugin provides a Workspace Overview tab for this purpose and serves as a container for sub-tabs of other plugins.

Core Features

The plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:

  1. Workspace Overview tab
    Adds a tab next to the Chat UI. The tab itself is an empty state, but as a sub-tab host, it receives registrations from other plugins through the workspaceOverview facade (by calling registerTab({id,label,order}, Component)). This is consistent with the registration pattern of granularSettings.

  2. GitHub pill
    When the .git configuration of the current workspace points to github.com, a GitHub pill is displayed in the session header.

    • Click behavior: Clicking the pill opens the repository in a new tab.
    • Visibility control: This feature is owned by the dsh-granular-settings plugin and is specifically controlled by the “GitHub pill in session header” switch under the “Plugin” tab (enabled by default).

Installation and Activation

Installing this plugin requires a DeepSeek Harness code checkout and a specified configuration profile (the profile name used in the example is web).

  1. Create the plugin directory and clone the dependencies and plugin source code:
    mkdir -p ~/dsh-plugins && cd ~/dsh-plugins
    git clone https://github.com/joao-paulo-santos/dsh-granular-settings.git
    git clone https://github.com/joao-paulo-santos/dsh-workspace-overview.git
  1. In the Harness code checkout directory, add the plugins via profile:
    pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add ~/dsh-plugins/dsh-granular-settings
    pnpm dsh plugin --profile web add ~/dsh-plugins/dsh-workspace-overview
  1. Verify that the configuration is composed correctly:
    pnpm dsh --profile web --dump-config
  1. After restarting Harness, a Workspace Overview tab appears next to Chat.

Dependencies

This plugin depends on dsh-granular-settings. dsh-granular-settings owns the “GitHub pill in session header” switch, and dsh-workspace-overview needs to read this switch to control the visibility of the GitHub pill. If dsh-granular-settings is missing, the plugin cannot be activated normally.
