Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture, but its native sidebar management has limitations: workspace lookup is inconvenient, archiving is irreversible, and visual customization is lacking. dsh-workspace-kit is a Cordis Bundle plugin maintained by ice5kysl, designed to solve workspace management pain points. It provides ⌘K quick search, a soft archiving mechanism, and an enhanced sidebar with drag-and-drop reordering and custom styling.

Core Features

Spotlight Search and Navigation

The plugin registers the Spotlight palette into the shell.overlay slot. After pressing ⌘K or Ctrl+K, you can fuzzy search all workspaces and sessions, including ungrouped and archived items.
* Search archived items: While typing, archived items are matched; results are marked as “Archived” and support restoration.
* Quick actions: Use the ↑↓ keys to navigate, and press Enter to open or jump directly.

Soft Archiving Mechanism

Native DSH archiving is system-level and irreversible. This plugin implements a “view-layer” soft archive:
* Archive state: Archived workspaces are removed from the main list and moved to a collapsible “Archived (N)” section.
* Restore and delete: Archive state is persisted in localStorage. Users can perform restore or permanent deletion from sidebar rows or Spotlight results.
* Data safety: Archiving only changes view state; it does not delete actual data.

Enhanced Sidebar

The plugin is registered in the sidebar.workspaces slot with low priority (-1), replacing the native sidebar browser.
* Drag-and-drop reordering: Supports dragging workspace rows to reorder them, or dragging sessions to adjust their order.
* Sidebar search: Provides an expandable search box that supports filtering by title or path, as well as content-based full-text search requiring at least 2 characters.
* Visual customization: Action buttons appear on row hover. Clicking the icon or color button lets you choose from 32 SVG icons and 9 colors to distinguish workspaces.
* Quick actions: Hovering shows “New session” for active rows and “Restore” for archived rows.
* One-click toggle: A button at the bottom of the sidebar allows quick switching between the “enhanced sidebar” and the “official sidebar”.

Installation and Activation

In an environment where DSH Web is running, install it using the following command:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-workspace-kit

After installation, the enhanced sidebar and Spotlight search are automatically activated.

Typical Usage

Find a Workspace

Enter the following command in a session, or enter it in Spotlight:
* workspace_find pms
* /workspace-find pms

Manage the Sidebar

  • Reordering: Drag a workspace row; the session switches to “manual” sorting semantics.
  • Styling: Hover over a workspace row and click the icon or palette icon to customize it.
  • Archiving: Click the “···” menu on the row and choose archive or restore.

Technical Details and Limitations

Architecture Design

The plugin uses a Bundle format and contains two sides:
* Host (Node): Located at lib/index.js. It provides the workspace_find / workspace_list model tools and the /workspace-find / /workspace-list slash commands (query only; write operations are in the GUI).
* Browser (Client): Located at lib/client.js. It implements the Spotlight palette, soft archive state storage (localStorage), and the enhanced sidebar.

Localization

  • Browser side: Prefer the dsh.workspace-kit.locale value in localStorage; otherwise infer it from navigator.language (zh* means Chinese, otherwise English).
  • Host side: Prefer the WSKIT_LOCALE environment variable; otherwise read LC_ALL / LANG.

Version and Limitations

  • Target version: @deepseek-ai/dsh ≥ 0.1.1-rc.2.
  • Capability boundaries: The capability boundaries of the v1 browser replacement are documented in detail in known-limitations.md.

Ecosystem Context

DSH emphasizes “everything is a plugin”. dsh-workspace-kit is published on npm and follows the MIT License. Before installing, please review the source code and license to ensure compliance with your project requirements.
