Preface¶
When developing agents in the DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web GUI environment, frequent code commits are common. Manually writing commit messages that conform to the Conventional Commits specification increases developers’ repetitive workload. The dsh-commit-ai plugin aims to solve this operational hassle by using AI assistance to generate standardized commit messages directly in the commit interface.
What This Is¶
This is a DSH Web GUI plugin maintained by the user honoriomelo. It adds a “Generate with AI” action button to the commit box in dsh-solution-explorer. The plugin reads the current staged diff (staging area) code changes, calls the default LLM in the deployment environment, and converts them into a Conventional Commits-style commit message.
Core Features¶
- UI Enhancement: Integrates a “Generate with AI” entry point into the commit box in dsh-solution-explorer.
- Content Reading: Automatically retrieves the code diff content from the current staging area.
- LLM Invocation: Uses the default LLM model in the current DSH deployment instance for generation.
- Format Conversion: Converts the natural-language description generated by the LLM into a commit message that conforms to the Conventional Commits standard.
Installation and Enabling¶
This plugin does not provide an official installation command. Users need to obtain the source code themselves from the GitHub repository and manually load the plugin in the DSH environment. Before installation, be sure to check the source code content and the license statement.
Typical Usage¶
This plugin currently does not provide specific usage examples. Based on the feature description, on the commit page in dsh-solution-explorer, after developers complete and stage their code changes, they can click the “Generate with AI” button. The plugin will automatically generate a commit message and fill it into the text box.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for developers who are accustomed to using the Conventional Commits specification and want to reduce the time spent manually writing commit messages. The plugin runs with DSH process permissions. It is recommended to review the GitHub source code and license information before installation to ensure compliance.
Conclusion¶
This plugin provides convenient AI-assisted commit functionality through the Web GUI, aligning with the DSH plugin ecosystem philosophy. For details, refer to the plugin directory or the GitHub repository.
