LocalStorage Storage

Theme state is synchronized across multiple tabs via LocalStorage:

  • dsh-theme-win98.enabled: When the value is '0', it is disabled; otherwise (including default), it is enabled.
  • dsh-theme-win98.desktop: When the value is '0', Desktop Mode is disabled; otherwise (including default), it is enabled.

  • Window-level Fine-tuning: Some window-level styles depend on the CSS module prefixes from the current DSH build (such as pI_x6G_frame). If DSH regenerates these hashes, the corresponding style rules will silently fail, but token-level styles will still take effect.
  • Compatibility Recommendation: Regardless of DSH’s appearance preference settings, this theme always renders the classic Windows 98 color scheme.
