Introduction¶
When developing in DeepSeek Harness, frequently switching windows or external terminals can interrupt your context. The dsh-terminal-panel plugin provides a terminal panel in the current workspace, supporting streaming output, multiple tabs, and command completion without leaving the current interface.
Feature Overview¶
- Real-time output
- Multiple tabs
- Tab completion
- Command history
- Ctrl+C interruption
- Status bar display
- Open system terminal
- Maximize panel
Installation¶
Use the official plugin installation command:
dsh plugin --profile <name> add @easytz/dsh-terminal-panel
<name> is the required profile name (usually web for the desktop version and tui for TUI). After installation, restart DeepSeek Harness. A terminal button will appear at the bottom of the sidebar.
Usage¶
- Execute commands: Enter a command in the input box at the bottom of the panel and press Enter. The output will roll in real time.
- Completion and history: Press Tab to complete file paths and command names. Press ↑/↓ to browse the command history.
- Multiple tabs: Click + in the title bar to open a new tab (up to 8). Click × to close a tab.
- Interrupt tasks: Press Ctrl+C to terminate the command currently running. The input box will show “Command running · Ctrl+C to terminate”.
- Maximize: Click the maximize button in the title bar to fill the window. Click it again to restore.
- System terminal: Click the leftmost button in the title bar to open the current directory in the system terminal.
Caveats¶
- Not a PTY: This is not a full-screen interactive PTY terminal. It cannot run programs that require full-screen takeover, such as
vim, sudopassword prompts, or Q&A-style interaction likenpm init. - Process isolation: Each command runs as an independent process.
cdis not preserved across commands. The panel itself tracks and displays the current directory. - Platform differences: On Windows, commands are executed through
pwsh. On macOS, commands are executed throughbash -c( rc files are not loaded).
