Introduction

The official peak and off-peak periods of the DeepSeek API directly affect billing rates and load conditions. In the DSH web interface, developers usually need to manually check the schedule or rely on API responses to determine the current status. The dsh-deepseek-peak-indicator plugin provides intuitive status feedback directly on the left side of the composer field, solving this information-asymmetry issue.

Feature Overview

The plugin displays a red/green status dot to the left of the model selection menu in the composer field of the DSH web interface.
* Status indicator: Green indicates that the API is in off-peak periods, while red indicates official peak periods.
* Hover information: Hovering over the dot displays the current tier, next transition time, and official schedule.
* Click interaction: Clicking the dot opens the dashboard panel.
* Dashboard content:
* Mode capsule (PEAK/OFF-PEAK).
* Countdown card: includes a real-time dial countdown and description of the next transition time.
* Real-time token cost card: displays V4.1 Flash rates (per 1 million tokens), supports CNY/USD switching, and highlights the currently active rate.
* 24-hour calendar: a red/green gradient track in local time with a “Now” marker.
* Stat tiles: display the time elapsed in the “current mode” and the “next” transition time.
* Other details: The panel supports Tab focus switching, automatically switches modes at window boundaries, and can be dismissed by clicking outside, pressing Esc, or clicking the close button. The interface respects prefers-reduced-motion and uses theme tokens.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command to install the plugin:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-deepseek-peak-indicator

After installation, restart the web profile to load the plugin:

dsh --profile web

Code modifications support hot reload. Edit lib/client.js to update the interface in real time without restarting.

Technical Details and Maintenance

  • Rate configuration: When DeepSeek adjusts prices, update the RATES_CNY or RATES_USD constants in lib/client.js.
  • Billing rules:
    • V4.1 Flash rates take effect on 2026-09-10.
    • Starting from 2026-08-23, weekends (Saturday and Sunday, Beijing Time) are uniformly billed at off-peak rates.
    • Starting from 2026-09-14, V4 Pro requests are automatically routed to V4.1 Flash via the PRO_ROUTED_FROM flag.
  • Operating mechanism: The plugin has no server-side components and makes no network requests; it only depends on React modules, and lib/client.js is the browser-side artifact.

Summary

This plugin provides DSH users with real-time DeepSeek API peak/off-peak monitoring and cost viewing, making it suitable for developers who need precise control over billing costs and load.
