Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts an “everything is a plugin” architecture. During development and use, temporarily switching models within a session often overrides global default settings, causing inconsistent configuration for new sessions. This plugin aims to solve this problem by providing DSH with stable global default model and Agent presets, and supports independent binding per workspace.

What is it

This plugin is a client plugin for DSH maintained by chenyangcun. It works through DSH’s own settings, sessions, workspace, preset, and model selection interfaces, without relying on external services.

Core Features

  • Stable global Agent preset
  • Stable global model (provider, model ID, and reasoning level)
  • Workspace-specific rules
  • Field-level inheritance (override only the preset, or override both simultaneously)
  • Automatic application (takes effect when creating a new session or switching to an empty session in a workspace)
  • Existing session protection (sessions that already contain content are not forcibly switched)
  • Native settings interface
  • Security: does not read or store model API keys and does not send network requests to external services

Installation and Activation

Run the following command in the Web Profile to install:

dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-fixed-new-session-model

After installation, restart the current DSH Web process, then open Settings → Default Mode and Model.

Typical Usage

  1. Open Settings → Default Mode and Model.
  2. In “Global Default Settings,” select the Agent preset, provider, model, and optional reasoning level, then save.
  3. Switch to “Workspace-Specific Configuration.”
  4. Select the target workspace and preset; the model can follow the global setting or be bound to a workspace-specific model.
  5. When you create a new session or switch to an empty session in that workspace, the plugin automatically applies the corresponding configuration.

Technical Details and Compatibility

  • The plugin works through DSH’s Settings, Remote, and model selection service.
  • Supports the standard edition of DeepSeek Harness (DSH), verified in the following environments:
  • @deepseek-ai/dsh 0.1.1-rc.2
  • @deepseek-ai/dsh 0.1.2-rc.1
  • Dependencies: @deepseek-ai/schemastery (3.18.1).
  • After upgrading DSH, re-run pnpm install in the Web Profile and verify that the settings items can still be loaded normally.

Notes

The plugin does not read or store model API keys and does not send network requests to external services. All configuration reuses DSH’s original settings system.
