When developing agents in DeepSeek Harness, research tasks often require reading a dozen or more pages. Key facts are eventually paraphrased in conversation, and days later nobody can confirm which page they came from—or the page has already been updated or even completely broken. Keeping research in chat scrollback is equivalent to losing the research.

Plugin Overview

web-cliplibrary is a memory-type plugin maintained by ChenneyZhuang. It saves research findings to a persistent clipping library instead of chat history. Each clip records the source URL, fetch date, verbatim excerpt (with quotation), and separated agent notes. It generates one Markdown file per project, which is greppable and traceable.

When using it, follow these disciplines:

  1. Clip while reading, not while writing.
  2. Re-fetch before citing. When citing a clip in a deliverable, re-fetch the URL according to the current fetch date (for example, when encountering a 403 or page changes).

Applicable Scenarios and Notes

This plugin is suitable for scenarios that require long-term retention of research results and traceability.

Note that clips freeze a moment; pages change, so re-fetch when citing. Verbatim quotations still require judgment: quotes taken out of context mislead just like incorrect numbers.

The plugin runs under the current DSH process permissions. Please inspect the source code and license before installation.
