Introduction

The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem is plugin-centric, using plugins to extend agent capabilities. In personal workflows, to-do items often accumulate without ever being completed: unresolved items keep piling up and eventually become an anxiety-filled list. This plugin aims to transform this unstructured backlog into a set of bounded decision queues.

Plugin Overview

backlog-triage is maintained by developer ChenneyZhuang and belongs to the workflow plugin category. Its core value is to consolidate fragmented sources (notes, pinned chat messages, inbox flags) and assign every to-do item a clear destination through explicit triage categories.

Core Features

This plugin primarily provides the following capabilities:

  • Source consolidation: merges notes, pinned chat messages, inbox flags, and the previous triage list into a single inventory.
  • Six dispositions: classifies each item into one of six outcomes: now, next, scheduled, waiting, reference, or drop.
  • Commitment-change handling: generates approval batches for items that require changing commitments to others (such as deadline changes or scope reductions), with the user making the final confirmation.
  • Archiving dropped items: items marked as drop are archived with their reasons recorded, rather than being silently deleted.

Installation and Enablement

Run the following command in the terminal to install:

npx skills add ChenneyZhuang/backlog-triage

For installation paths and runtime requirements, refer to the project’s COMPATIBILITY.md file.

Usage Flow

Run the plugin by following these steps:

  1. Consolidation: traverses all sources (notes, pinned chat messages, inbox flags, and the previous list) and aggregates them into a single inventory.
  2. Triage: assigns each item a category with a reason, focusing on the now set so that it remains tight for the current session.
  3. Commitment alignment: places any changes to commitments toward others (such as moved deadlines or scope reductions) into an approval batch for the user to confirm and send.
  4. Write-back: writes back the processed list, preserving timestamps and triage states, and records reasons for dropped items in the archive area.

Limitations and Notes

  • Honesty requirement: triage quality depends on how honestly drop reasons are recorded. Fabricated reasons are just procrastination in disguise.
  • Final decision authority: commitment changes still require genuine user approval. The plugin drafts; the person decides.

Ecosystem Background

DSH’s philosophy is “everything is a plugin.” This plugin is hosted in a community directory and has no official affiliation with DeepSeek or High-Flyer. More plugins can be accessed via SkillHub.
