Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a “everything is a plugin” architecture. When browser capabilities (such as web scraping, taking screenshots, and automated operations) are required, a local daemon usually needs to be maintained. The kimi-webbridge-dsh plugin automatically provisions the official Kimi daemon in the DSH ecosystem and registers the corresponding official skill pack, enabling models to call browser capabilities directly through DSH.
Core Features¶
This plugin is mainly responsible for three things:
* Daemon provisioning: Downloads the binary for the corresponding platform according to the official manifest (with SHA-256 checksum verification). If it is not running, it automatically starts the daemon. The default path is ~/.kimi-webbridge/bin/.
* Skill registration: The package includes official skill documentation and registers it as the kimi-webbridge skill at startup.
* Health anchor: Provides a thin tool kimi_webbridge that only supplies the status command for checking the health status of the daemon and the extension.
Installation and Activation¶
Add the plugin using the official installation command. The plugin includes its own bundle patch, so no manual modification of configuration files is required. Restart DSH to make it take effect.
dsh plugin --profile web add kimi-webbridge-dsh
Typical Usage¶
Before use, load the corresponding skill first, and then perform operations through the thin tool or the HTTP interface.
- Load the
kimi-webbridgeskill (trigger words usually includebrowser, webpage, screenshot, etc.) - First call the thin tool to confirm the environment is healthy:
kimi_webbridge status
This command will automatically install the daemon if it is missing or start it if it is not running, and check the connection status of the extension.
- Following the skill documentation specification, send a POST request to the daemon:
curl -X POST http://127.0.0.1:10086/command \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"action": "...", "args": [...], "session": "..."}'
**Note**: On Windows, due to shell restrictions on handling non-ASCII characters, the request body JSON must be carried via a temporary file.
Configuration¶
The daemon configuration items are located in ~/.dsh/profiles/web/cordis.patch.yml. Defaults can be overridden by replacing the entire kimi-webbridge configuration section in that file.
- id: kimi-webbridge

Requirements and Notes¶
- DSH version: This plugin depends on the
@deepseek-ai/*tool libraries provided by the host. The compatibility range covers DSH 0.1.0-rc.7 through 0.2.0-rc.1. If tools or skills disappear after upgrading DSH, it is usually because the plugin version does not cover the new dsh; upgrade this plugin. - Browser extension: The plugin itself does not proxy browser operations. Browser capabilities are defined by the official skill documentation. You need to install the Kimi WebBridge extension from the browser store yourself and keep it connected.
- Daemon management: Do not manually run operations such as
upgrade, stop, restart, oruninstall. These may interrupt a running daemon. - Skill list: It is normal for
status.skillsin thestatusoutput to be empty. The daemon only recognizes skills from a specific list, and skill registration in DSH is completed by this plugin. - Source code and license: Please review the source code and MIT license before installation.
Removal¶
To remove the plugin, run the following command and then restart:
dsh plugin --profile web remove kimi-webbridge-dsh
Ecosystem Background¶
This plugin is part of the DSH community catalog project and has no affiliation with DeepSeek official. The design philosophy of DSH is “everything is a plugin,” and developers can manage their local development environments through the catalog.
