DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. Developers often need to interact with Git repositories directly in their workflows. The ayumedaze/dsh-git plugin packages a Fork-style Git graphical interface (Express backend + browser frontend), allowing it to be embedded in the DSH desktop or web version.

Prerequisites

Before installation, ensure that Node.js (version ≥22) and git are installed on your local machine.

Installation and Activation

  1. Run the installation command in the root directory of the plugin repository:
dsh plugin --profile <profile-name> add .
If the profile does not exist, the command automatically initializes it first.
  1. Restart DSH (the desktop version, or restart it via the dsh --profile ... command).
  2. After restarting, a Git button appears at the bottom of the sidebar.

The desktop profile name can be found in DSH Settings/Plugin Management.

Core Features

  • Starts the Git GUI service.
  • Registers API endpoints.
  • Registers a Git button in the sidebar.
  • Embeds the Git GUI in a popup.
  • Supports local git repository paths.
  • Records recently opened repositories and automatically restores them on the next launch.

Usage

  1. Open DSH and click the Git (⏣) button at the bottom of the left sidebar.
  2. In the popped-up Git GUI overlay, click Open… and paste a local git repository path.

Configuration and Limitations

The environment variable GIT_GUI_PORT can override the default port (3417). The port is bound only to 127.0.0.1 and will not be exposed to the local area network.

Ecosystem and License

This plugin is published in the community plugin catalog (https://www.skillhub.cn/plugins/ayumedaze/dsh-git), independent of the official DeepSeek / High-Flyer app store. The license is MIT.
