Preface

When developing with DeepSeek Harness (DSH), frequently switching windows to check balances, manage project files, or perform Git operations can interrupt the workflow. The dsh-workspace plugin is designed to address these issues. It is integrated directly into the DSH sidebar and provides lightweight IDE and Git workspace features.

Overview

This is a lightweight plugin designed for DeepSeek Harness, maintained by AstralFoundry and released under the MIT License.

Core Features

  • Balance and Cost Monitoring: Displays the balance and today’s cost at the bottom of the sidebar. It turns red to warn when the balance falls below 10 CNY.
  • One-Click Harness Update: When a new version is detected, clicking the Update button automatically restarts Harness.
  • Project Workspace Panel: Provides a file tree, Git workspace changes, diff comparison, and commit history.
  • Git Source Control: Supports staging, committing, switching branches, pulling, and pushing.
  • Built-in Terminal: Opens a terminal directly inside the plugin to run commands.
  • Privacy Protection: Loopback-only access by default. API keys are resolved through Harness’s ctx.credentials and are not exposed to the browser.

Installation and Enabling

Install the plugin using the official command:

dsh plugin --profile web add "github:AstralFoundry/dsh-workspace#v0.2.0"

After installation, you need to restart dsh web.

Configuration

The plugin works by default without configuration. If adjustments are needed, you can set the following in the configuration file:
* allowRemote: Set to true to allow remote access.
* baseUrl: The base URL of the API.
* apiKeyEnv: The environment variable name for the API key.
* projectRoot: The project root directory.
* peakWindows: Billing peak windows (in minutes).

Notes

  • Permission Restrictions: Git operations are strictly limited to the projectRoot directory of the current session. Path traversal and external symbolic links are not supported.
  • Dependencies: Depends on the node-pty native module.
  • Cost Display: Prefers official billing data and falls back to local estimation when the API is unavailable.
  • Unofficial Project: This is a community project and is not authorized by DeepSeek.

Conclusion

This plugin transforms DeepSeek Harness into a lightweight workstation with basic IDE capabilities. For more details, please refer to the plugin repository or source code: GitHub.
