Preface

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) adopts a plugin-based architecture, aiming to encapsulate all features as plugins. The existing Web interface requires a browser and manual workspace selection, which is not direct enough for developers accustomed to terminal-based workflows. The DSH community provides several TUI plugins, and dsh-minitui is a lightweight front-end implementation designed to provide a pure text interface primarily driven by keyboard interaction.

Plugin Positioning

This project is maintained by AncientMoon114 and is a TUI front-end plugin designed specifically for DeepSeek Harness. Unlike approaches that rely on Web interfaces, it completely eliminates mouse interaction and interacts directly with the Agent through keyboard shortcuts. The interface design is inspired by OpenCode, keeping it clean and concise, and it primarily serves backend engineers.

Core Features

UI and Interaction

  • Pure keyboard operation: There are no mouse-clickable areas in the interface; only the input box and conversation monitoring area are retained.
  • Shortcuts:
  • Send message: Alt + Enter
  • New line input: Enter
  • Text completion: Tab
  • Copy: Ctrl + Shift + C
  • Paste: Ctrl + Shift + V
  • Exit: Ctrl + C

Command Support

  • /session: Used to switch or create sessions under the current workspace directory. Note: This command does not support switching across directories. You must first exit the TUI, change directories, and then open it again.
  • /model: Used to switch models and reasoning levels. Currently, only native Deepseek models are supported; external models are not supported.

Configuration and Formatting

  • Markdown support: Supports rendering in Markdown format.
  • Custom configuration: On first run, userconfig.json is generated in the plugin root directory and can be used to configure colors and default settings. Incorrect values may prevent the plugin from starting.

Installation and Enablement

Because this plugin has not yet been published to the npm repository, it currently needs to be installed from source. The development environment is Ubuntu 22.04.

  1. Clone the repository and install dependencies:
git clone https://github.com/AncientMoon114/dsh-minitui
cd ./dsh-minitui-0.1.0/
npm install
  1. Compile TypeScript:
npx tsc
  1. Add it to the DSH plugin configuration:
dsh plugin --profile minitui add link://这里需要填入minitui的绝对路径

Typical Usage

Open the TUI interface in the project directory:

dsh --profile minitui

For easier use, it is recommended to add an alias to ~/.bashrc:

alias dsh-minitui='dsh --profile minitui'

Notes

  • Environment dependencies: Depends on libraries such as neo-blessed, marked, marked-terminal, and streammark. The streammark library has been manually patched, and future updates or global environment variable changes may cause conflicts.
  • Operating system compatibility: The development environment is Ubuntu 22.04. Windows users are advised to use WSL2; unknown bugs may exist.
  • Feature limitations: The /model command currently only supports native Deepseek models; /session is limited to the current workspace directory.

Summary

dsh-minitui provides a non-browser-based way to use DSH, focusing on keyboard interaction and Markdown input. For developers who prioritize terminal efficiency and a clean interface, it is a viable alternative.
