DSH (DeepSeek Harness) uses a plugin-based architecture that allows features to be extended through configuration files. For developers who are used to terminal workflows or need an immersive interface, the native Web UI may feel too bulky. dsh-float is a minimalist skin that wraps the real DeepSeek Harness Web UI in a borderless, semi-transparent Electron window.

Core Features

This plugin mainly provides the following capabilities:

  • Minimalist Skin: A thin skin based on dsh-web-app, not a fork, and does not interfere with core updates.
  • Floating Terminal Mode: By default, it starts as a floating terminal-style overlay.
  • Appearance Settings: Supports customizing text color, background color and opacity, and text shadow.
  • Full Mode Switching: Provides a toggle; turning off floating mode falls back to the standard DSH Web UI.

Installation and Activation

Make sure the environment meets the following conditions before installing:

  • dsh CLI has been added to the system PATH
  • Node.js >= 18
  • pnpm and git are installed

Run the installation command:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:Zara-Siwei/dsh-float

Usage

After installation, run Web mode directly:

dsh --profile web
  • Default Mode (Minimized): After startup, it appears as a floating terminal-style window.
  • Full Mode: Turn off the floating mode switch in settings to display the standard Web UI.

Notes

  • Dependencies: Electron ^43.4.0
  • Network issues: Downloading the Electron binary may fail; using a mirror is recommended.
  • If you encounter Electron failed to install correctly, go to the configuration directory and set the mirror environment variable:
