Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Desktop, after an agent performs edit, write, or str_replace_editor operations, the output is usually just a single line of text. Developers often find it difficult to quickly confirm which files were changed and what the exact changes were in plain-text logs. The dsh-diff-card plugin introduces a visual file-change card for each conversational turn.

Plugin Purpose

The plugin is designed for DSH Desktop and aims to provide a Codex-style presentation when agents perform file-modification operations. It is maintained by WongYuYe under the MIT license. It covers edit, write, str_replace_editor, and Code Dispatch sub-calls, presenting the changes in each turn as cards.

Core Features

  • Changed-line display: Tool rows display the number of added/removed lines, such as +N −M. The end-of-turn card lists the files modified in the current turn, defaults to previewing 3 entries, and includes aggregate data in the title.
  • Expand and collapse diffs: Click a row to expand or collapse the diff for that file. Click the “View Changes” button to expand all files in the current turn and open their diffs; click it again to collapse them.
  • Review mode: The “Review” feature can directly expand all diffs in the current turn for inspection.
  • Undo and restore:
    • Click “Undo” to restore the files changed in the current turn to their previous state. If a file has already been modified by another process, the plugin rejects the operation.
    • After a successful undo, the button changes to “Restore”; clicking it again writes the undone changes back.
    • Both Undo and Restore trigger a lightweight confirmation.
  • Quick file actions: A dropdown symbol ▾ appears on the right side of each row. Click it to open the file with a system application, show it in a folder, open it in VS Code, or copy the file’s absolute/relative path.
  • Language adaptation: The interface text automatically follows DSH’s interface language (Chinese or English).

Installation and Activation

Before installing, ensure that your DeepSeek Harness version is >= 0.1.2-rc.1.

Run the following command in a terminal to install it:

dsh plugin --profile desktop add dsh-diff-card

After installation, refresh the Web GUI or restart DSH Desktop to activate the plugin.

Typical Usage

  1. View changes: After an agent modifies code, tool rows display a +N −M indicator, and a card such as “Edited N files” appears at the end of the turn.
  2. Inspect diffs: Click a file row in the card to expand the specific diff content and verify whether the changes are correct.
  3. Jump to a file: If you need to open a file directly for further editing, click the ▾ on the right side of the file row and choose “VS Code” or the system default application.
  4. Roll back changes: If you find errors in the current turn’s modifications, click “Undo” to restore the original state; after confirming correctness, click “Restore” to reapply the changes.

Applicable Scenarios and Cautions

This plugin is suitable for DSH developers who need fine-grained control over file-change workflows, code review, or frequent rollback operations. Because the plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process, review its source code and license before installing.

Conclusion

dsh-diff-card uses visual cards and interactive controls to address the lack of intuitive file-change information in agent output logs. For more details and source code, see:
