Introduction

When using DeepSeek Harness (DSH), if you need to frequently enter fixed instruction prefixes, skill invocations (such as /grill-me), or specific prompts (such as “Please answer in Chinese”), manual input reduces interaction efficiency. The dsh-message-injector plugin automates these operations through predefined content combinations.

Plugin Scope

This is a client-side plugin maintained by developer wf-ping. It solves the problem of “manually entering fixed instructions for every message” by using preset groups to inject commonly used text or skill invocations into the first line of the input box with one click.

Core Features

The plugin includes the following core capabilities:

  • Preset group management: Create, delete, modify, and view preset groups in the settings panel; supports enabling/disabling, reordering, and collapsing.
  • One-click selection: A preset selector is provided at the lower-left corner of the input box; click it to switch presets.
  • Direct access to settings: The bottom of the selector menu provides a “Settings” entry that opens the configuration panel and expands this plugin directly.
  • Automatic injection: When the input box is empty, the plugin automatically injects the preset content after approximately 500 ms.
  • Skill validation: Content that starts with / is treated as a skill invocation. If a missing skill is configured, the configuration card will show a warning, and the skill will be skipped during injection.
  • Smart guard: If the input box already contains content, injection is skipped to avoid interfering with existing input.
  • Global persistence: The state of the currently selected preset group is maintained across sessions, page refreshes, and tabs.

Installation and Activation

Use the official command to install it:

dsh plugin --profile web add github:wf-ping/dsh-message-injector

After installation, the plugin loads automatically. On first use, configure it through the “Preset” selector at the lower-left corner of the input box.

Usage Steps

  1. Select a preset: Find the “Preset” selector at the lower-left corner of the input box, and click to select the required preset group.
  2. Configure content: Click “Settings” at the bottom of the selector menu, and create, delete, or modify preset group content in the settings panel.
  3. Trigger injection: Clear the input box, wait about 500 ms, and the preset content will automatically appear on the first line of the input box.

Configuration Storage and Maintenance

Preset group data and the selected state are stored in the DSH global configuration file at $DSH_HOME/settings.yaml (default: ~/.dsh/settings.yaml). The namespace is message-injector.

If you need to back up or migrate the configuration, simply copy the file (or the message-injector section within it). Please note that you should create, delete, and modify settings through the plugin interface rather than editing the file manually, to avoid breaking its format or validation.

Notes

  • The plugin runs with the permissions of the current DSH process.
  • Before installing, check the source code and license (MIT).
  • The configuration state is maintained across sessions, refreshes, and tabs.

Summary

dsh-message-injector reduces the burden of repetitive input through preset group management and automatic injection. It is suitable for users who frequently invoke specific skills or use fixed prompts.
