Preface¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin-based architecture. During use, you may need to manage multiple physical or virtual machines. Typically, each DSH backend instance corresponds to one workspace, and switching backends can interrupt the current session. This plugin connects to multiple machines over SSH, aggregates their workspaces and sessions into the same native sidebar, and runs tasks on the machines that own them, eliminating the need to switch between multiple machines.
What It Is¶
wazzfhaha/dsh-multi-end is a DSH plugin that manages the workspaces and sessions of multiple machines over SSH.
It is maintained by Wazzfhaha and released under the MIT license. Its core function is to bring multiple DSH instances on remote machines under unified management via SSH, enabling cross-machine workspace browsing and session interaction.
Core Features¶
-
Host and Connection Management
You can manually add SSH hosts or import configurations from the local~/.ssh/config. SSH and DSH ports can be configured independently. It supports a limited number of retries after disconnection and manual reconnection. During connection, a read-only check is performed to verify the basic protocol for workspace and session control. -
Unified Sidebar and Native Interface
It aggregates the native workspace sidebar, and remote workspaces are labeled with their source machine. The session interface keeps a native style. The native “+” button is still used to add workspaces to the main backend; to add remote workspaces, use “Multi-Endpoint Management.” -
Session Management
Supports renaming, archiving, unarchiving, pinning, and reordering remote sessions within the same workspace. Archived sessions are hidden from the quick list on the management page. -
File and Directory Operations
Supports browsing remote directories and creating new folders. If the remote directory API is unavailable, it automatically falls back to the SSH SFTP subsystem for browsing and creation. You can also manually enter an absolute path to add a workspace. -
Message Routing
Explicitly routes requests for chat, cancellation, history, forking, attachments, message queues, and session skills.
Installation and Activation¶
In the terminal running the main DSH backend, execute the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add -w https://github.com/Wazzfhaha/dsh-multi-end/releases/download/v0.0.8/dsh-ssh-workspaces-0.0.8.tgz
After installation, restart the corresponding backend and open “Settings → DSH Multi-Endpoint Management” to get started.
Typical Usage¶
- Add a Host: Manually add an SSH host on the “Multi-Endpoint Management” page or import it from the SSH config.
- Add a Remote Workspace: In the list of connected hosts, click to add a remote workspace and browse or fill in the directory path.
- Manage Remote Sessions: Directly use the native session interface in the sidebar to chat, archive, or pin sessions.
- Reconnect on Disconnection: If a disconnection occurs, the plugin automatically attempts to reconnect. If the connection fails or a forced reconnection is needed, click “Reconnect” on the management page.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin connects to remote DSH over SSH, so remote machines must already have DSH installed and running, but they do not need to have this plugin installed.
Before installing, it is recommended to review the source code and license. For users of older versions, check your existing configuration first to avoid duplicate registration. Note the following limitations when using it:
- Feature Forwarding: Tool approval, user questions, and third-party interactive cards are not yet forwarded; use the interface of the owning backend for these scenarios.
- SFTP Requirements: When the directory API is unavailable, the plugin falls back to SFTP. The SSH user must have SFTP enabled, and the absolute paths visible to SFTP and DSH must be identical (chroot configurations with differing paths are not supported).
- Unsupported Features: The remote file sidebar, cross-machine moves, and global configuration synchronization are not currently supported.
- Platform Verification: Windows and macOS remote setups have not been verified on real devices.
Summary¶
This plugin provides unified sidebar management for multiple DSH machines over SSH, making it suitable for developers who need to maintain workspaces across multiple machines from a single interface. For more details, see the official catalog page and GitHub repository.
