Preface¶
The design philosophy of DeepSeek Harness is “everything is a plugin.” When developing agents or debugging code, relying solely on the conversation window is often not enough; direct access to workspace files for browsing and editing is required. Existing workflows can be cumbersome and often lack a unified entry point for file management.
What Is This¶
@supanexus/dsh-plugin-file-explorer is a client-side plugin maintained by SupaNexus (MIT-licensed). It integrates file browsing and editing capabilities into DeepSeek Harness. The interface keeps the official conversation list on the left, while the center area adds a directory tree and a multi-tab editor to pin the working directory for the current session.
Core Features¶
- File Tab and Layout: Adds a “File” tab at the top of the session, displaying a split view with the directory tree and editor, with the working directory fixed for the current session.
- Multi-tab Editing: Supports opening files in multiple tabs. Unsaved files are marked as dirty and can be saved with
Ctrl/Cmd+S. - Markdown Support: Supports switching between source mode and preview mode.
- File Operations: Supports creating, renaming, and deleting files (non-empty directories cannot be deleted).
- Link Integration: File path links in the conversation can be opened directly in the editor.
- Code Editing: Prefers the Monaco editor (loaded via jsDelivr CDN). If loading fails or times out, it automatically falls back to a plain text box.
Installation and Enabling¶
- Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:supanexus/dsh-plugin-file-explorer#v0.1.0
- After installation, you must fully restart
dsh web(or Desktop Host), then open it using the printed?token=address.
Typical Usage¶
- Open or create a new session.
- Click the “File” tab at the top.
- Browse files in the left-side directory tree, and double-click a file to open it in the right-side editor.
- After making changes, press
Ctrl/Cmd+Sto save. - Right-click a tree node to create, rename, or delete it.
Notes and Use Cases¶
- Appearance Adjustments: The editor toolbar supports adjusting background color, font size, and theme.
- Configuration Items: You can configure it in Settings → Plugins → SupaNexus File Browsing. For example, set the browsing root directory (defaulting to the current process working directory) or control whether file links in the conversation open in the editor.
- Permissions and Security: The plugin runs with the permissions of the current dsh process. Please review the source code and license (MIT) before installing.
- Applicable Scenarios: Suitable for developers who need to manage project files directly within a conversation, debug code, or maintain multi-file agents.
This plugin integrates a directory tree and a multi-tab editor to simplify file operations in DeepSeek Harness. For more details, please refer to the Catalog page or the GitHub repository.
