DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is a model inference tool with a plugin-centric architecture. In Vibe Coder mode, developers are accustomed to writing natural-language requests directly in the editor. These requests often include self-corrections, fragmented expressions, or redundant information. If sent directly to the model, they can easily lead to unclear instructions, hallucinations, or unnecessary operations.

vibe-intent-compiler is a DeepSeek Harness plugin maintained by Shhaaawwww. It reads the complete unsent draft in the composer, reorganizes only what the user actually expressed, and writes the result back to the original position. The plugin does not generate new details; it focuses on improving the clarity and fidelity of instructions.

Installation and Prerequisites

Before installation, make sure your environment meets the following requirements:

  • Node.js version is 22.19.x or 24+.
  • DeepSeek Harness version is 0.1.1-rc.2 or higher.
  • pnpm is installed on the system (DSH internally depends on this package manager).

Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:

After installation is complete, start the Web UI and go to the conversation page. A ✦ Clarify button will appear in the composer.

Typical Usage

  1. Type a natural, fragmented, or self-correcting request draft in the composer.
  2. Optional: enter the @ symbol to select up to 3 files from Harness. Only the selected files are read and used to resolve ambiguous references already present in the draft.
  3. Click the ✦ Clarify button.
  4. Review the draft rewritten by the plugin, edit it manually if needed, and then send it yourself.

Example:

Before: Login keeps breaking lately, maybe it's the token. Make the UI nicer too—actually, leave the UI alone for now.

After: Fix the recent recurring login issue. Treat the token as a possible cause to investigate, and do not change the UI.

Core Features

1. Faithful Context Rewriting (Faithful Context Beta)
Plugin version 0.4 is in the Faithful Context Beta stage. It checks whether the rewritten text retains protected text from the original draft and rejects results that omit critical information or introduce new @references. If a safe and faithful result cannot be verified, the original draft remains unchanged.

2. Intelligent Handling of Corrections and Retractions
The plugin treats subsequent corrections as replacements for earlier wording, applying them only when they conflict with previous expressions. It also removes explicitly retracted ideas while preserving constraints, preferences, and statements of uncertainty.

3. Technical Detail Protection
During reorganization, the plugin preserves code snippets, commands, paths, URLs, error messages, identifiers, schema keys, and proper nouns, preventing loss of technical information caused by natural-language conversion.

4. Context Reference Resolution
When users explicitly select files, the plugin uses only those files to resolve references already present in the draft, without performing global searches across the project or starting agent loops.

Boundaries and Limitations

  • Automatic Execution Limit: The plugin never automatically executes tasks or sends messages; all operations are triggered by the user.
  • File Context Limit: File context is deterministic, with a maximum of 3 files, 24 KiB per file, and 48 KiB in total.
  • Oversized Drafts: If the draft exceeds 20,000 characters, the plugin leaves the draft unchanged.
  • Sensitive Path Interception: Sensitive paths (such as .env, credential files, SSH keys, etc.) are blocked, and both the draft and the content of selected files are checked for common credential patterns before sending.
  • Input Log Protection: The original draft does not appear in command input logs; only the rewritten result is retained in the session as a command result.
