The core concept of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) is “everything is a plugin.” When developing or chatting through the Web interface, you often need to retrieve dates, weather, or timestamp information. Traditional approaches usually rely on model generation, which consumes tokens, or on unstable external services. dsh-panda-calendar is a plugin designed specifically for the DSH Web interface. It runs locally in the browser and provides one-stop calendar, weather, and timestamp services without consuming tokens and supports offline use.

Core Features

The plugin adds a “Panda Calendar” tab to the session page header, at the same level as Chat, Trajectory, and Poetry. It mainly solves the following problems:

  1. Calendars and festivals: Look up the Gregorian calendar, lunar calendar, sexagenary cycle, zodiac animal, 24 solar terms, and official Chinese holidays (including adjusted work days).
  2. Weather and location: Query weather for multiple cities, obtain geolocation, and manage cities.
  3. Time handling: Two-way conversion between seconds/milliseconds and year-month-day-hour-minute-second, with timezone selection.
  4. Historical records: “On this day in history” events and notable birthdates.
  5. Offline capability: The lunar calendar engine and official holiday data are built in, so core functions remain available offline.

Installation and Activation

Installing this plugin requires pnpm. After installation, you must restart the dsh web process to load the new plugin.

# 1. 安装 pnpm(如果尚未安装)
npm i -g pnpm

# 2. 安装插件
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-panda-calendar

# 3. 安装完成后重启 Web 进程
# (停止当前进程,然后重新启动 dsh web)

Usage

  1. Open a session and click the “Panda Calendar” tab in the page header.
  2. Today’s summary: View the day’s Gregorian date, lunar date, sexagenary cycle, zodiac animal, and other information. Click “✍ Send to chat” to insert the day’s summary into the input box (it is not automatically sent). Switch back to the chat view and press Enter to have the AI interpret or arrange it.
  3. Timestamp conversion: In the timestamp conversion card, directly paste a 10-digit (seconds) or 13-digit (milliseconds) number, or enter a date and time to convert. The top-right corner allows selecting a timezone (including daylight saving time handling).
  4. History and weather: Expand “On this day in history” to view major events, or search or switch cities in the weather card.

Technical Implementation and Data Sources

  • Pure front-end implementation: No backend; favorites and state are saved locally (localStorage).
  • Lunar calendar engine: Built-in offline data tables for 1900–2100, generated based on lunar-javascript.
  • Official holidays: Based on holiday-cn, with built-in 2025/2026 snapshots and rule-based fallback.
  • Weather service: Uses Open-Meteo (free), BigDataCloud reverse geocoding, and ip-api.com as fallback. No API key required.
  • History enrichment: When Chinese Wikipedia is reachable, it automatically fetches and enhances the “On this day in history” content (12-hour cache).
