DeepSeek Harness (DSH) supports extending functionality through plugins. When handling long conversations, quickly locating context is a common need. The dsh-chat-timeline-plus plugin reduces retrieval cost through timeline navigation and hover preview features.

Hover Q&A Preview

When the mouse hovers over a timeline entry for about 0.35 seconds, a preview card appears on the left, showing the question and answer summary for that turn. The preview card includes the full timestamp, the full question, and the answer summary (skipping thinking and tool calls). It supports light/dark theme adaptation and disappears automatically when the mouse moves away.

Panel Pinning

Click the pin button in the top-left corner of the expanded panel. After selecting “Pin,” the panel remains expanded and will not collapse when the mouse moves away. Click again to unpin. The pinned state is remembered per session and is automatically restored when switching sessions.

Key Bookmarks and Filtering

Use the ★ symbol to mark important Q&A items. In the collapsed state, a gold indicator line is displayed. The “Show marked only” filtering feature is supported to quickly focus on key information.

Daily Grouping and Jumping

Messages that span multiple days in the panel are automatically separated by date separator rows (e.g., “Today / Yesterday / YYYY-MM-DD”). Clicking an entry smoothly jumps to the corresponding message. On-demand loading of history and debouncing are supported. The plugin also works with rollback/retraction features, and invalid messages are automatically removed.

ARIA accessibility attributes and keyboard navigation are supported.

Installation and Enablement

dsh plugin add dsh-chat-timeline-plus

This command automatically completes npm package fetching, writes the profile dependency, registers the bundle, and installs dependencies.

Option 2: Manual Installation

cd ~/.dsh/profiles/web
npm install dsh-chat-timeline-plus

Edit package.json, and add "dsh-chat-timeline-plus" to the dsh.profile.bundles array.

Activation and Verification

  1. Restart dsh (web or Desktop).
  2. Open any session. The timeline navigation rail should appear on the right.
  3. Hover over an entry for about 0.35 seconds, or click the pin to verify the features.

Typical Usage

  2. Persistent Panel: Click the pin in the top-left corner of the panel to keep the panel fixed on the side.
