Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) uses a plugin architecture. When developing or debugging the Web client, we often need to invoke specific prompts. Repeatedly copying and pasting in each conversation, or looking them up in notes, is inefficient.

dsh-quick-prompts solves this problem. It is a Web client plugin that adds a persistent quick bar above the input box and provides a management entry point. With it, you can quickly append predefined prompts to the current conversation, or manage and import large numbers of prompts from Markdown files.

Plugin Overview

  • Name: dsh-quick-prompts
  • Author: lnyuqian
  • Category: Client
  • Positioning: Quick input for the input box (category quick bar + lightning-pen management modal)
  • License: MIT

Core Features

  1. Persistent horizontal quick bar
Two lines are fixed above the input box.

    • The first line displays categories; hovering with the mouse switches the titles displayed below.
    • The second line displays the quick prompt titles under the current category.
    • Clicking a title appends the content after the existing input box content (it does not clear existing content, does not auto-send; the cursor remains at the end, and you can edit and manually send).
  2. Per-item auto-send
Each quick prompt can have auto-send enabled individually.

    • After enabling it in the management modal, a ⏎ icon is displayed after the title of that entry in both the quick bar and the modal.
    • Clicking an entry with a ⏎ icon causes the system to replace the entire current draft with that phrase and immediately send it through the official channel.
  3. Numeric ordering
Each quick prompt can be assigned a numeric sequence.

    • The quick bar and modal arrange entries from the smallest to the largest sequence number, left to right.
    • Entries without a sequence number are placed at the end.
  4. Lightning-pen management
To the right of the “permission toggle” in the toolbar, there is a lightning-pen button; clicking it opens the modal.

    • Manage: Add, modify, or delete quick prompts (category, title, content); after changes, click “Save” to persist to disk.
    • Import MD: Supports importing from Markdown files. The parsing rules use ### as the category, list titles as quick prompt titles, and indented content as the body. Duplicate titles are skipped.
  5. Global data storage

    • Data is stored at the global path ~/.dsh/quick-prompts.json.
    • It is independent of sessions and projects. Quick prompts remain after restarting the environment or switching projects.
  6. Theme adaptation

    • Icons use inline rendering with currentColor, automatically following DSH’s light/dark theme and hover color changes.

Installation and Activation

Install to the Web profile using the DSH CLI:

dsh plugin --profile web add "https://github.com/lnyuqian/dsh-quick-prompts/releases/latest/download/dsh-quick-prompts.tgz"

After running this command, the plugin is automatically detected and installed. Once installation is complete, restart dsh web and refresh the page to take effect.

Usage

  1. Use the quick bar
Above the input box, hover over a category on the first line to switch titles, then click a title on the second line to append the content. If auto-send is enabled for it, clicking a title with a ⏎ icon sends it directly.

  2. Use lightning-pen management
Click the lightning-pen button on the right side of the toolbar. In the modal, you can browse all quick prompts or click “Import MD” to select a local file.

  3. Markdown import format
When importing MD, follow this format:

    ### 分类名
    - 快捷语标题
        - 快捷语内容(可多行,缩进内容会自动拼接)
    - 自动发送的标题 ⏎
        - 内容(该条开启自动发送,导出时标题尾部带 ⏎ 标记,导入时识别还原)

Notes

  • Data location: Quick prompt data is persistently stored in ~/.dsh/quick-prompts.json (under the DSH_HOME directory). Data stored per project by older versions can be reimported in the new version.
  • License: Usage must comply with the MIT License.
  • Source code inspection: It is recommended to inspect the source code and license before installing.

Conclusion

dsh-quick-prompts provides a lightweight prompt management solution for the DSH Web client. The persistent quick bar reduces operating steps, and global storage ensures configuration continuity. If you need a fixed set of Prompt templates, this plugin can be used directly.
