The Web GUI for DeepSeek Harness (DSH) (dsh web) usually has a plain, generic default interface. If you want a more comfortable or focused visual environment while developing or debugging agents, dsh-ui-background is a lightweight solution. This plugin provides one-click background switching for DSH Web. It integrates through the patch layer of the Web profile, does not modify the core, and supports persistent saving of settings.
Core Features¶
The plugin mainly addresses the single-background issue in the Web interface and provides the following capabilities:
- Presets and Images: Built-in aurora, sunset, and jade gradient presets; supports uploading local images or using Bing daily wallpapers.
- Display Adjustment: Adjustable background opacity (0.05–1), blur radius (0–32 px), and fit mode (cover/contain/tile).
- Dynamic Effects: Supports flowing-light or particle dynamic effects (must be enabled after activating a background).
- Persistence: All configuration is written to
$DSH_HOME/settings.yamland remains after refresh. - Zero Intrusion: After uninstalling the plugin, the interface fully reverts to default.
Installation¶
Install the plugin via the DSH CLI, using the following command:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-ui-background
After installation, you must restart the dsh web process for the plugin to take effect. The uninstall command is:
dsh plugin --profile web remove dsh-ui-background
Usage¶
- Switch Background: Go to “Settings → General → Background”, then click a preset card, upload an image, or fetch today’s Bing wallpaper.
- Quick Switch: A floating button is located in the bottom-right corner of the interface. Click it to cycle through “No background → Preset… → No background”.
- Bing Wallpaper: After fetching today’s wallpaper, the button changes to “Another one”, allowing you to browse and select from the last 8 days. Images are cached locally and do not rely on network hotlinking.
Notes¶
- File Limits: Uploaded images are limited to 50 MiB; supported formats are png/jpg/jpeg/gif/webp/avif.
- Restart Required: Because it involves Node-side route registration, you must restart
dsh webafter installing or modifying the plugin. - Effects Note: Dynamic effects (flowing light/particles) can only be enabled after activating a background (preset or image), and they follow the system’s “Reduce Motion” setting.
- Restore Defaults: After uninstalling the plugin, the interface fully reverts to the DSH default state with no residual configuration.
