Introduction¶
To use the Codex subscription models in ChatGPT with DeepSeek Harness, users typically need to apply for an OpenAI API Key or configure Codex CLI. The DSH Codex Subscription plugin provides an alternative: it allows users to log in to a ChatGPT account via OAuth and directly use subscription models in DSH without manually managing an API Key.
Plugin Purpose¶
The plugin was developed by imMamdouhaboammar and is classified as a “Model Inference” plugin. Its core value lies in reusing an existing subscription by managing account login state, monitoring quotas, and invoking models.
Core Features¶
Subscription Models and OAuth¶
The plugin supports logging into ChatGPT via OAuth, without requiring an API Key or Codex CLI. Account login state can be restored locally, with automatic rebalancing and diagnostics supported.
Quota Management and Safe Reset¶
The plugin displays Codex, Spark, and other independent quota limits provided by the backend. During quota resets, it includes a safe cooldown period to prevent accidental operations.
Search and Image Generation¶
It supports subscription-based search inside DSH (DSH default or Codex). During the Beta stage, it supports Codex image generation and editing, with image preview, zoom, and download all completed within DSH.
Modes and Context¶
Composer supports switching to rapid mode. It also supports model-aware context window settings, allowing custom Token limits to be configured for different models.
Headless Execution¶
Headless execution mode is supported, enabling the use of a logged-in Codex subscription in background tasks.
Installation and Enablement¶
Installation¶
Run the following command in the terminal to install the plugin:
dsh plugin --profile web add dsh-codex-subscription
Enablement¶
After installation, restart DeepSeek Harness. Go to the Codex option in the Settings menu and log in through the browser. After a successful login, select a Codex model to start using it.
Typical Usage¶
- Run the installation command.
- Restart DSH and open the Codex settings page.
- Log in with a ChatGPT account that has Codex access.
- Select a Codex model for conversation, search, or image generation.
Use Cases and Notes¶
This plugin is suitable for users who want to directly use their ChatGPT subscription without configuring an API Key.
Please note the following:
* A ChatGPT account with Codex access is required.
* The plugin does not provide proxies, relays, node lists, or system proxy configuration.
* Model search, quota features, and image generation all run within DSH.
