Introduction

The built-in web_search and web_fetch in DeepSeek Harness (DSH) primarily solve “retrieval” problems. The dsh-opencli plugin completes DSH’s ability to “get things done.” Through OpenCLI’s daemon and browser extension, it drives the real browser windows that users use daily. Agents can directly invoke 176 site adapters and 200+ commands to obtain structured data with login states (such as hot lists, favorites, and unread notifications), and perform operations such as posting and approvals (with approval enabled by default).

Installation and Prerequisites

Before installation, ensure that the OpenCLI environment has been deployed.

  1. Install OpenCLI:
   npm i -g @jackwener/opencli
   opencli daemon restart

Install the BrowserBridge extension in the browser and log in to frequently used sites.

  1. Install the plugin:
   dsh plugin add IKEASven69/dsh-opencli
  1. Configure the binary path (optional):
Set the environment variable DSH_OPENCLI_BIN to the path of the opencli executable.
Note for Windows users: dsh’s shell uses PowerShell on Windows; point DSH_OPENCLI_BIN to the shim that ends with .cmd.

Core Capabilities

  • Site Adapters: Supports 176 sites / 200+ commands. Invoked directly through the site command, for example site bilibili search. Supports site_batch for parallel multi-site tasks.
  • Browser Primitives: Provides operation primitives such as open/click/type/fill/scroll/state/screenshot/extract/wait/crawl to directly control real browser windows.
  • Security and Approval: Includes a built-in “approval gate”; write operations (such as posting or liking) require user confirmation. Supports four automation modes.
  • Tasks and Auditing: Supports scheduled tasks (persisted to dsh.schedule), record and replay, login-state inspection, and interception auditing.

Usage Examples

  • Retrieval and Structured Data:
  site bilibili search 罗翔
  site zhihu hot
  site github whoami
  • Write Operations (Approval Required):
  site weibo post …
  • Browser Flow Operations:
  browser_open → browser_state → browser_click
  • Multi-Site Parallel Execution:
  site_batch

Notes

  • Scope: This plugin does not replace OpenCLIApp/daemon/extension, nor does it replace dsh’s built-in web_search/web_fetch.
  • Environment: Headless servers are not applicable (a real browser is required).
  • Windows: As mentioned above, ensure the path points to the shim that ends with .cmd.

Conclusion

This plugin extends DSH’s retrieval capability to a “retrieval + getting things done” capability. Through real browser windows and login states, it provides Agents with richer operational dimensions.
