Introduction

DeepSeek Harness (DSH) plugin ecosystem allows developers to enhance model behavior on demand. The dsh-concise plugin is based on Claude Code’s built-in Concise output style and brings it to DSH. It addresses the problem of verbose, chatty model output in long conversations while preserving working depth, allowing the model to directly provide conclusions in each turn and attach a concise summary card.

Core Features

  • One-click toggle (collapsible): Provides a toggle on the composer tool row. When collapsed, it shows only a slider; the text expands on hover or keyboard focus.
  • Summary card: When enabled, the beginning of each final answer must include a summary. Intermediate step text is exempt. The summary card uses an engineering blueprint style (faint grid, corner measurement marks) and supports select-and-copy.
  • Command-line and headless support: The /concise command is available in both the slash menu and CLI sessions.
  • Custom style: Supports overriding the built-in prompt via a configuration file.

Installation and Activation

The plugin requires zero configuration and works out of the box. Before installation, ensure that the DSH Web version is 0.1.0-rc.8 or higher.

After installation, refresh the Web interface. On the composer tool row, the toggle is located immediately to the left of the “Enhanced Prompt” button (if Enhanced Prompt is not installed, it is placed immediately to the left of the model selection button).

Usage

1. Toggle State

After installation and refreshing, click the ● Concise toggle to switch it on or off. Orange indicates enabled, and gray indicates disabled. The toggle takes effect independently per session, and new sessions default to disabled.

2. Command Operations

Enter the following commands in the slash menu or CLI session:

3. Custom Style

Edit the configuration file ~/.dsh/dsh-concise/style.md. If the file content is non-empty, it completely overrides the built-in prompt; delete the content to restore the default.

Technical Details

The plugin implements its functionality through system prompt injection. The injected prompt content is sent to the model as an order 40 section, requiring each turn’s user-visible final reply to begin with a summary blockquote.

After enabling, the summary card style in model output is as follows:

The summary card only restates existing conclusions in the main text and does not introduce new facts. For engineering-blueprint-style replies, the summary card is rendered with faint grid lines, corner measurement marks, and a monospaced font.
