DeepSeek Harness (DSH) Web is a plugin-architecture-based interface. The default interface is usually fairly generic, and the generic UI can be distracting for users who want an immersive development experience or are used to a terminal style. dsh-matrix-skin aims to solve this issue by providing DSH Web with a black-first, Matrix-style skin that maintains an immersive feel while ensuring core functionality remains clearly accessible.

What This Is

This is an independent community plugin maintained by emeryxu1-blip. It provides a complete hacker-aesthetic visual theme for the DeepSeek Harness Web interface. Through local processing and dynamic rendering, it transforms the DSH interface into a more tech-forward, immersive terminal-style workbench. The license is MIT.

Core Features

  1. Full-shell hacker aesthetics: This visual style covers Chat, Trajectory, the sidebar, tool panels, and Composer.
  2. Dynamic Matrix rain: The rain effect is not a static loop; it is generated based on the latest text currently displayed by DSH, including user replies, assistant output, streaming content, and reasoning exposed by the provider.
  3. Terminal-style handling for Think lines: It provides a more readable terminal-style presentation for DSH native Think lines.
  4. Reduced motion and accessibility: It supports Reduced Motion settings and allows selecting and accessing reasoning text.
  5. Local privacy: All processing is local; there are no network requests, telemetry, storage, credential access, or model request interception.

Installation and Enablement

Before installing, ensure you are using DSH’s web profile with version 0.1.5-rc.1 or a compatible 0.1.0-rc.6 / 0.1.1-rc.2.

  1. Add the plugin using the official installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add -w github:emeryxu1-blip/dsh-matrix-skin
  1. Start DSH Web:
    dsh web
After installation, refresh the browser to load the skin.

Typical Usage

  1. Start DSH Web: dsh web.
  2. Select or create a session.
  3. Interact as usual. The Matrix rain updates in real time based on the latest text currently displayed by DSH.
  4. If the model returns a native Think line, expand that line to use the terminal-style reasoning viewer.

Notes

  • Reasoning visibility: The plugin can only display reasoning content that the model provider sends to DSH. It cannot recover hidden, redacted, or unavailable chains of thought.
  • Functional independence: The skin only changes presentation. Model/provider selection, Effort selection, default parameters, authentication, and retry mechanisms remain controlled by DSH and separately installed provider plugins. The plugin does not include a gateway, model catalog, or gateway settings.
  • Privacy statement: The plugin has no network client, does not perform telemetry, does not upload session content, and does not store or intercept credentials or model requests.
  • Unofficial notice: DSH Matrix Skin is an independent community plugin and is not an official DeepSeek product.

Summary

dsh-matrix-skin gives DSH Web a more hacker-oriented visual experience by changing how the interface is presented, while strictly following local processing and privacy principles. The project source code is hosted on GitHub: https://github.com/emeryxu1-blip/dsh-matrix-skin.
