Introduction

When the browser agent of DeepSeek Harness (DSH) executes tasks, it often needs to repeatedly learn the tool signatures and operation notes for the target site. This consumes extra tokens and reduces efficiency. dsh-ego-browser is a memory plugin that provides site skill memory to the dsh browser agent, allowing the agent to recall past experience before acting and convert effective operation steps into reusable tools.

Plugin Introduction

The plugin is maintained by dshworks and is licensed under MIT. It addresses the problem of agents repeatedly “discovering” site skills.

Core Features

The plugin provides the following core features:

  • ego_recall: Recall previously learned notes and tool signatures for the host.
  • ego_run: Delegate an entire browser task to the ego runtime.
  • ego_learn: Convert effective steps into actual site tools.
  • ego_site_run: Invoke stored tools by name.
  • ego_handoff: Actually return keyboard control to the user.
  • ego_doctor: Check installation commands instead of trusting the documentation.
  • Store inheritance: Inherit the existing learnings/ on first launch.

Installation and Activation

Before installing, ensure that ego lite is installed on the machine and that the ego-browser command is available in PATH.

  1. Run the installation command:
dsh plugin --profile web add -w @dshworks/dsh-ego-browser
  1. Restart dsh to activate the plugin.

Verification and Checks

After installation, you can verify it with the following steps:

  1. Check whether the tools are registered:
curl -s localhost:8090/dsh-ego-browser/memory | jq .tools
  1. Check installation status and compatibility:
    Call ego_doctor in dsh. It detects whether the actually installed command is cliLog() or console.log(), to confirm the specific environment of the ego runtime.

Runtime Environment Requirements

  • Node.js: Node.js >= 20 is required.
  • ego lite: It must be installed on the machine running dsh.
  • Run mode: Host-only; it does not start, patch, or sell browsers.
  • Version verification: Verified on dsh 0.1.7-rc.2.
