Introduction¶
DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a basic agent runtime environment, but model output usually follows a generic format. Developers often need the model to report progress or summarize verification results in a specific collaborative tone and using clearer wording. The dsh-persona plugin solves this by adding a layer of configurable collaboration style to model requests.
Plugin Overview¶
dsh-persona is a DeepSeek Harness dual-end plugin maintained by Diluka. It adds a collaborative-style system prompt layer for DSH Web users. The plugin does not change DSH’s core prompt, tool permissions, or security policies; it only affects wording related to communication style, collaborative tone, progress reporting, and next-step instructions.
Core Features¶
- Collaboration Style Layer: Appends an additional system prompt section to model requests without replacing DSH’s core prompt.
- Configuration-Based Settings: Uses settings defined in configuration files, with support for preset styles and shared prompt blocks.
- Host-Side Prompt: Adds a system prompt section named
dsh-persona:styleon the host side. - Web Settings Interface: Provides a style configuration entry in DSH Web settings.
- Built-In Styles: Provides two built-in style options: Friendly Collaboration and Pragmatic Direct.
- Editable Shared Block: Provides an editable general prompt block that is appended before the selected style.
System Requirements¶
- Node.js 22 or a later version.
- DeepSeek Harness version 0.2.0-rc.2 or later.
Installation and Activation¶
Run the following command in the command line to install the plugin into the Web profile:
dsh plugin --profile web add github:Diluka/dsh-persona
After installation, restart the DSH Web profile to mount the plugin.
Usage Steps¶
- Open the DSH Web interface.
- Go to the plugin manager, find the
dsh-personacomponent row, and click enable. - Navigate to Communication Style in the settings menu.
- Use the dropdown menu to select a built-in style, such as “Friendly Collaboration” or “Pragmatic Direct”.
- Edit the Shared prompt block at the bottom to customize the general behavior description.
- Use the reset button to restore the shared prompt to the plugin defaults.
Notes¶
- Permission Scope: The plugin only appends a system prompt section and does not change DSH’s core prompt, tool definitions, sandbox policy, or approval policy.
- Feature Boundaries: It does not implement memory, preference learning, chat history distillation, or long-term user profiling.
- Read-Only Built-In Text: The built-in style text is read-only; users can only affect the final output by editing the shared block.
- Runtime Effect: After settings are changed, subsequent model requests will apply the updated style layer.
Summary¶
dsh-persona is suitable for developers who need consistent model communication styles in DSH, such as code review tone and progress reporting format. It provides lightweight style injection through the plugin mechanism without interfering with DSH’s underlying runtime behavior.
