The DeepSeek Harness (DSH) ecosystem is plugin-centric. When performing Plan review in a Web profile, the native card usually only provides an “Allow Once” option. If a rejection is needed, it often falls back to a fixed prompt message and cannot convey a specific rejection reason to the model. The dsh-reject-message plugin takes over the native elevation window and adds a “Reject” entry to the Plan review card. A description can be filled in when rejecting, and the model will see this description.

What Is This

dsh-reject-message is a DeepSeek Harness web plugin.

  • Maintainer: azazo1
  • License: MIT
  • Core value: Adds a reject entry to the native Plan review card. A description can be filled in when rejecting, and the model will see that message.

Core Features

The plugin mainly addresses the limited “Reject” feedback in native approval points:

  1. Takes over the native elevation window: Intercepts the native approval logic and provides finer-grained control.
  2. Adds a reject entry: The native Plan review card has no rejection input box. This plugin attaches a reject entry to the card, and clicking it opens a dialog to fill in a description.
  3. Model visibility: After rejection is confirmed, the description is appended to the tool error result with a plugin additionalContext attached, allowing the model to read the specific reason for rejection.
  4. Multi-client support: Supports Web and Desktop profiles.
  5. Operation logic: Supports “Allow Once” and returning to the elevation window. Clicking Reject does not immediately end approval; instead, it enters the rejection window.

Installation and Enablement

Web Install

Install under the Web profile:

dsh plugin --profile web add azazo1/dsh-reject-message

If you need to pin a version:

dsh plugin --profile web add azazo1/dsh-reject-message#v0.1.0

If you need to install from a local directory:

dsh plugin --profile web add "link:$(pwd)"

After installation, restart dsh web and refresh the browser page for the changes to take effect.

Desktop Install

The desktop client is an Electron application. The dsh plugin command does not directly support installing with --profile desktop, and the system rejects that operation. For desktop, you must use the in-app plugin manager for installation. In the install entry on the plugins page, enter the corresponding package name or local directory from the commands above. After installation, restart the app, and the window will refresh automatically.

Typical Usage

After the Plan review card appears:

  1. Allow Once: Press the Enter key to allow it directly.
  2. Reject: Press the Escape key to enter the rejection window.
  3. Return: In the rejection window, return to the elevation window.
  4. Fill in a description: Enter the rejection reason in the dialog (optional. If left blank, the behavior is the same as native rejection).

Notes

  • Engine version requirement: Before installing, make sure the current DSH engine version line @deepseek-ai/dsh-* is no lower than 0.2.0-rc.1 and is still in the 0.2.x series. Earlier versions cannot install this plugin.
  • Configuration limit: The maximum length of a rejection description is 4000 characters.
  • Configuration option: You can adjust the maxLength parameter (default value is 4000) via cordis.patch.yml.

Summary

By completing the functionality of the Plan review card, this plugin resolves the lack of context passing in the native rejection flow, allowing the model to receive more specific feedback when a rejection result is returned.
