DeepSeek Harness (DSH) provides a local agent development environment, but its native interface style is relatively uniform. To improve the visual experience without modifying the core logic, various community theme skins have appeared. 6HOLLIS’s DSH Hiyuki Frost Sakura is an unofficial theme skin for DSH Web. By introducing a “Normal and Battle” dual-background mechanism, it provides different visual feedback for everyday conversations and Agent tool calls.

Plugin Positioning

This is an unofficial fan project intended to provide DSH Web with a “Normal and Battle” dual-background visual solution. It does not change DSH’s original layout, does not proxy session operations, and does not read message content or send telemetry. The asset copyright is separate from the code.

Core Features

The plugin mainly includes the following capabilities:

  1. Dual background and state switching

    • Normal state: Ordinary conversations, thinking, and the welcome page remain in the first background (White Sakura Normal Katana).
    • Battle state: The background automatically switches to the second background (Long Katana Ice Signal state) when the Agent calls a tool for the first time, and plays a ~0.9-second “Ice Mist Sweep” animation.
    • Return to normal: After a task ends, is stopped, or fails, Normal state is restored, playing a ~1.15-second “Wind-Driven Sparse Sakura” animation.
    • Supports three modes: automatic switching, permanent Normal state, and permanent Battle state.
  2. Visual intensity adjustment
Provides Gentle, Standard, and Immersive presets. Presets do not reduce the readability of code blocks, menus, or pop-ups.

  3. Input box transparency
The bottom input box transparency can be adjusted independently, ranging from 0% to 90%. Defaults to 0% (fully opaque); even at 90%, background blur, border, and shadow are retained to ensure text readability.

  4. Theme and contrast adaptation

    • Adapts to DSH’s light and dark themes, keeping code blocks, menus, pop-ups, and input areas as high-readability surfaces.
    • Battle state separately increases contrast for Agent message body, Think, and tool call records.
  5. Performance and compatibility

    • Background images load locally; if loading fails, it falls back to CSS gradients without affecting DSH startup.
    • Supports the system “Reduce Motion” preference and can also disable animations in plugin settings.
    • Changes visuals only; it does not wrap or replace the session management functionality of dsh-session-manage.

Installation and Enablement

Environment Requirements

  • DeepSeek Harness Web: 0.1.0-rc.6 to 0.1.1-rc.2
  • Node.js: 22
  • Package manager: pnpm 11

Installation Steps

Open PowerShell in the repository root directory and run the installation script:

pwsh -File .\scripts\install-local.ps1

The installation script runs type checking, build, and asset validation, inserts the skin bundle after @deepseek-ai/dsh-web-app, and refreshes pnpm dependencies.

Configuration Entry

After installation, go to DSH → Settings → General Settings → Hiyuki Theme. All settings take effect immediately and are saved automatically.

Usage Instructions

Visual Intensity and Transparency

In the “Hiyuki Theme” settings panel:
* Visual intensity: Choose Gentle (suitable for reading), Standard (default), or Immersive (stronger atmosphere) based on usage.
* Bottom input box transparency: Adjust by dragging the slider. Defaults to 0%; dragging right increases transparency. This value is saved independently and is not affected by state switching.

State Switching Strategy

  • Automatic mode (default): The welcome page, settings, archive, and ordinary conversations remain in Normal state. Battle state is switched only when the Agent in the currently visible session calls a tool for the first time.
  • Motion effects: Motion effects can be disabled separately (states can still switch, with only fade in/out retained).
  • Manual mode: After turning off “Automatic state switching”, you can permanently lock Normal state or Battle state.

Notes

  • Version compatibility: Supports only DSH 0.1.0-rc.6 to 0.1.1-rc.2. Higher versions may adjust the client module loader or settings slots.
  • Asset licensing: The code uses MIT License, but fan-made assets are not MIT-licensed and must not be used for commercial purposes.
  • Privacy and security: The plugin does not read conversation content, does not send telemetry, does not proxy session operations, and only performs visual rendering.

Conclusion

DSH Hiyuki Frost Sakura provides DSH Web with a visual solution that does not interfere with core logic, suitable for users who want immersive visual feedback during Agent development. For more details and source code, please refer to the GitHub repository.
